Havasu during spring break is no joke!!!! Be ready for the craziest weekends of your life. I don't recommend rookie boat owners taking their first big trip to Havasu on spring break.... so take some time to get to know your new Tige. Above all have fun and be safe and don't forget your pasties!!!

    P.S

And get ready for the launch ramp crowds and please don't become launch ramp story we like to make fun of other boat owners not Tige owners.

      Hey conor,
Well we went last Spring Break 06' and let me tell ya it was awesome! I had a Mobius last year, and like yourself I am a new Tige' 22 Ve' owner. We stayed on the island at Crazy Horse campgrounds (tent camping). I'll tell ya the goods and bads of the trip: Totally wished we had a camp trailer or just stayed at one of the hotels along the London Bridge. Crazy horse was ok, but the area we were the camp sites were cramed together that forced us to park the boat trailer somewhere else and anchor the boat in front of the camp site. Very rocky shore and we ended up bending the prop on the rocks. Also the water temp is cold, just so you know. Last year at that time it was 80 outside and the water was 60. Bring your wetsuits for sure. All in all it was fun and I would definately go again Wakeboarding was really only good in the morning, but choppy all day.

      Enjoy and have fun
      Gary

Here is a link to the water temp there:

Gary is right about the water temp on the river in March. Havasu is warmer then up river but either way it is cold. Some of the best water is about 20 miles north between Needles and Topock. If it is not windy the water is sweet all day. The main problem we have is on Saturday's the boat traffic to the Sandbar and Havasu chops it up by 10:30- 11am. Sunday through Friday the water is great all day minus the wind. Havasu tends to get rough and not very good in the earlly afternoon.

Quick note don't ski, tube or board in the gorge. It is a National Wildlife preserve and its a heavy fine if you are caught. Plus most regulars will yell at you for doing it.

You are really going at the beginning of the spring break months. I think the crowd will be lighter when you are there. If you are into skiing and boarding, imho I think the water just north of Cattail Cove or just south is the best . Camping at Cattail is nice as they have nice facilities and a good launch ramp. Downside is 12-15 miles from town for activities. The state camp gound is at Windsor beach, just north of the bridge. I hate the launch ramp but it is convenient to everything.
Snowbirds will begin to leave as the spring breakers head into town.

Plenty of good restaurants depending what you like.

Mexican is Javelina Cantina. Eat on the patio overlooking the channel and bridge.

Barley Brothers Brewery - unique micro brew beer- tripleberry beer(good stuff)

            Golden Horseshoe- Steak and potato

Angelina's Kitchen- very small italian place- usually need reservations. Not good for large parties -Very small

For Breakfast- Black Bear diner - way too much food

Night life spots for younger people - no clue as i am a married middle aged dude

Not sure of the budget but I also like Montana steak house and Krystals restaurant.

Water is cool as others have said. the farther south on the lake the warmer the water.
            Let it be!!!

I have stayed at Crazy Horse before, and it is definitely hardcore. By this i mean i had the time of my life, but beware of the crowd and its ammenities. For example the restrooms are revolting (not a big deal for me) but the ladies didnt enjoy it. Also it was a way younger crowd when i was there...and the parties went all night long! (not saying that is a bad thing)....

Thanks everyone for all the awesome advice, it is really appreciated! I will be taking the boat out for a few trips locally before the trip out there. I am not quite sure what a "weekend saver kit" is? Could anyone explain?

Here is a photo of the boat, it was a big Christmas suprise... hence the ribbons put up by our excellent dealer, Wakeboard and Waterski Specialty in Denver.

Looks awesome man. The "weekend saver" kit is a tool kit to change the prop at the ramp or in water.

oh yeah remember to take a bunch of good sized fenders, or even the blanket style to protect your boat from all the others will be banging into you!

Is that your home garage or a storage area? Nice boat and must say the speaker set up is da bomb.
