    Has anybody had this problem???

I have the 2000 2300V and the throttle will not hold by itself when it is below 1/2 throttle, in other words, if I let go of the throttle at below half it will return to idle. How does one tighten this up so it will hold?

I've never really thought of letting go of the throttle when driving my boat.

How often do you have it past half way anyway?

On my boat once you get past here.... -- anything below is WO.

You might have to actually loosen it. I adjusted mine (thottle cable) last year and over tightened it and it wouldn't stay put. I let off the tension a bit and and that problem cleared it right up.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Ok so I explained that pretty bad....

The throttle at neutral looks like this... | pushed down 90 degrees .... __ from there pushed down further to here... / is not much of a difference in RPM. Maybe that helps?

is your cable tight? or too loose? I'd look into that, or your return spring maybe.

                  Zad,
What I mean is more than half throttle not just a 45 degree angle.

                  Nicky, Dom,

That sounds very likely the culprit, I will look into it. Thanks for the help! Until I get it resolved, I will consider it a safety feauture
