I've got a sheet of clear film mask for just that reason. I also have some GatorGrip left over that I may use instead.

My buddy drove over his own carbon straightline handle, that wasn't pretty. The largest solid piece was about quarter sized.

Not installed yet, waiting on a nice warm day, will post pics.
Looking like it may be in the 70's next weekend, If my boat is back from the dealer, I may stick it on.

The padded clip on Transom savers are a mistake. My mastercraft buddy put one on to save the gelcoat and after leaving it on for a week at Powell he took it off and has thousand of little tiny scratches where it rubbed. Have any of you seen the front of a car that a bra was on and then taken off, same kind of damage. I do like the clear 3m type material idea my malibu friend has that, and it saved the ding I would have caused when the surf board got away from me.
My dad always said "Stupid Hurts". He's yet to be proven wrong, but for some reason I keep trying.
