    whats the point

would someone mind telling me whats the point of weighting up your boat and setting the taps lower. wouldn't it just be easier to put taps on 8 and weight it up a bit?

p.s what are some of the arrangments you use with taps and weight.

It's all in the size of the wake and the way you want the wake to look. Set the taps lower or higher gives you a different size/style of wake. When you put more weight in the boat, then your wake is bigger, as well as you can move the taps up and down and shape the wake differently.

this is especially noticable in 22vs'.

we had about 1500lbs and 10 people in the boat... taps was at 1, and the wake was HUUUGE.

with taps down to 6-7 the shape was about the only noticable difference...size was still huge.

it will also depend on where your weight is located on the boat....as far as shape of wake and taps levels.

Yeah, I can definitely vouch for this... I had about 6 people in the boat and was messing with TAPS while there were a few chicks sitting up on the sun deck w/ their legs over the seat... I didnt have to make them get down, and their (*Y*)'s bounced really nicely!

anyways, I believe it makes the wake less rampy when you have the TAPS down and a lot of weight in it.
