    Graphics removal (?)

I have an '05 24V, and would like to replace the graphics. Does anyone have any safe suggestions on how to do it?

I don't know how safe, but I used a medical bandage remover and a razor blade to get my decals off.

Hair dryer or heat gun. You should be able to warm them up and peel them off in big pieces.

Second the heat gun, and razor blade to help getting the edges up. Once you have a good edge up, you can start pulling them off. Try and keep the direction of the pull at least 45 dergees to the egde of the graghic. Go slow. This will let the adheasive come up with the sticker. It's a real bich to get the sticker up and then have to remove the glue. Going slow and steady will help a ton and save you time and effort and chemical in the end. Tip on the razor blade: Put a slight, SLIGHT, bend in it. This will keep the corners up and off of the surface. When you pick it up after setting it down, check for the bend before you place it back on the surface every time. It will leave some very small scratches, but nothing that won't buff out as long as you remember to check for the bend.

What are you putting on in place of the stockers? Get it? Stock, stickers, stockers? No?

Funny how Greg's and Chpthrl's avatars almost look identical!

Please post pics when you get them of your new decals!

Can a boat be ordered from the factory without decals and would they give you a cost break on it?

Thanks for the info. Sounds like the heat gun is the way to go. I'm just going to cut out the oval circle in the center that says Tige', and replace it with a custom logo that will tie into the tribals. I'll post pic's when its done.

P.S. I guess CHPTHRIL and I are just surfers at heart.

If anyone ever needs something to get adhesive off, try 3M's Citrus Based Cleaner. It comes in a black spray can and works awesome. I've used it on both my boats to remove CF numbers. It will take the wax off too, so you'll need to reapply.

Goof-off works pretty well on glue also, haven't tried it yet on gelcoat.

Good luck. Should not take more than three hours.

Just use the hair dryer or heat gun (do not hold the heat gun in one place too long ) to soften 'em, pull 'em off and use WD-40 to remove any glue that remains. Works like a charm.
