I have done the rubbermaid containers before actually, and they work just fine. We even just filled them with a 5 gallon bucket (that was a workout!). You need to get some giant garbage sacks to line the container with and then once the container is full of water, seal the sack by twisting the top and then putting a twistie tie on it. If you don't, the water splashes all over and your rubbermaids will lose a lot of water.

The price could not be beat!
Way to much work for me...

Ghetto IS the right word. But it worked for a nice day in December at Lake Mead in my 02 21V.

              28 gallon rubbermaid = 229 pounds.
42 gallon rubbermaid = 344 pounds. We put a 42 in each locker and another up front. Had I had more ballast experience, I would have put more up front.

How about some input for the 24VE? Or does it even need any ballasts?

have you tried like a set of v drive side sack and maybe a walk way sack or throw some people up front

You will like your wake a lot without ballast.

Throw 500 in the walkway and you will grin big!

not to contradict you AKDoc, but I was talking to a good buddy of mine who also happens to be a two time 22V owner, and he seemed to think an integrated bow sac would fit just fine in the 20v/switch V, just maybe not fill all the way. Have you actually tried to fit one up front, or are you just running on measurements and stuff? If so, I am still interested in looking into this option, even if it only means 350 lbs or so out of the 800. I just really don't want a walkway sac if I can avoid it.

I've heard the same about the bow sac not filling all the way. Even in my 22v supposedly I can only get about 400 lbs of the possible 800. I still like the idea of one wrap around sac but will probably go with two seperate sacs so I can adjust the amt of weight on each side. I don't see a reason why it would not fit, but it definitely would not fill to capacity.

                              Garrett,

You can fit an integrated bow sac up there, but you are only going to get about 200lbs. in there in a 20V/Switch V. I just wouldn't see the point spending the money on a sac that will hold 800lbs. and only getting about 200lbs in it. Man, you have our old boat, and believe me you will be wasting your money if you get the bow sac.

Spend the money on lead and then replace the rear tanks with 400# on each side and stick a 500# bag in the walkway. That setup will get you the best wake out of that boat.
