    Anyone replaced Dash Trim?

I am going through all my winter maintinance and I wanted to airbrush the trim panels on the dash. Mine have faded and are now just a dinjy silver color, I have extra silver metallic paint from one of my drag cars and I was thinking of repainting the trim kit to match the steering wheel in met. silver..I haven't tried to remove them yet allthough I know there are screws all around holding the trim ring down. Does anyone know if you have take the gauges out to get the dash trim kit off, or if you can just take all the screws out and pop the trim ring off.

Any knowledge in this dept. would be appreciated...
Get out of the way and let me drive this thing!!!!

Unfortunately, that would be a 'Yes'. I've replaced the Fuel Gauge, and it's no kiddie-ride under there - all of the gauges are clamped to the panel, and the wiring spaghetti is daunting (then again, I don't work on drag cars). It's clearly posible, but will likely take some time, patience and commitment to diagraming of the wiring scheme. I'm sure you'll find a better way to light the upside-down under the dash project than I did.
