I must have a complete misunderstanding of how this puller works.....thanks again for the effort in getting this out Lee.

I thought the pullers were similar to a puller used in the auto world, and the hammer would be a slide type that you could use to "persuade" the prop into coming off. A ball pen isn't computing......I'll just check it out when it gets here.

With a harmonic puller, the puller screws onto the shaft up tight against the prop. You then smack the puller with the new hammer and presto the prop loosens up.

wow!!! time out! are we getting the harmonic puller or the c clmp type puller? I was under the impression that it was the c type puller. So which one is it?

it's the c type. But people don't all know what that is. It's easy to identify as a harmonic.

I'll be installing my prop as as soon as the saver kit arrives......my old prop will be the backup. I found some ok pictures of the kit online, so it all makes sense now, just have to aim well with the hammer.

The kits went out Tuesday. Yes they are the harmonic kits as Greg had me price out. If you would like a different puller we could swap it out but the harmonic is smaller and just as effective in removing a prop.

Harmonic or C-style work the same way other than the way they grip the object being pulled. I actually prefer a harmonic style. I am still wondering how a ball peen fits into all this though.....all I have ever seen is slides. There must be a flange or similar on the puller that allows an area to hit, or maybe it pops off like a spindle?? Guess I'll see by doing.
