      gas

Is this the same for a 315 vortec mpi on a 20v? Does the 335 vortec efi get better on the same boat?

I was in a 24v with the Vortec 335 and synchrotec, at 30 mph we were burning 8 gph.

You should expect to burn between 3.5 gph and 28 gph. Depending on load and speed.

I have a 22v with the 350 mpi. At 20 mph pulling a rider the fuel flow meter says 6.5 gallons per hour. This is three people in the boat with no added weight. -Tip

Lee, I thought you said I could expect better gas mileage than this? I know this is a 24V, but 8 gph!!!

On average you will. With you still learning that double backroll to revert, you will be stopping and starting and not driving 20mph for one hour straight.

Are you kidding me?! When would you get 28gph?

I think that was a typo error, Greg probably meant 3.5 - 8 gph.

sorry guys, no typo. at wide open throttle you can expect to burn 28 gallons per hour with a 6.0 liter.
the 454 mag's back in 95' closed bows would burn 34 gph at w.o.t.. it only had a 26 gallon tank.

                              Let's do some useless math.

Providing you're willing to run your boat that holds 26 gallons of fuel at WOT until it runs out of gas.

At 34gph, you'd be out of gas in 0.76 hrs or almost 46 minutes.

Assuming a top speed of 45mph, you would travel a total 34.2 miles (it would be a good idea to head out no further than 17 miles to ensure you can get back - if you're on a river, all bets are off!)

At $2.30 per gallon, you would burn $59.80 worth of gas in this little adventure, or

                              $1.74 per mile or

                              $1.30 per minute

My take on it - Completely worth it
