OK, so the running joke among my crew was: 'You've got 10 hours on your $40K dream boat, and you're already modifying it?!? You know, Tige pays people to design these things so you can enjoy them as-is.' Well, it's what some of us do, isn't it? Subs, add'l speakers, amps, heaters, board racks...
I had this Gator Grip product on my old Glastron for 5 or 6 seasons, and it's awesome for any surface where you need traction. It is truly no slip, it doesn't fade, and the adhesive doesn't give up over time.
My 22i has the step through rear seat, and Tige uses OEM black grip tape on the steps that didn't blend well w/the interior, and was not up to the quality of the vinyl seating surfaces. Gator Grip makes a color that complements the vinyl in the boat (in my opinion). Honestly, I'd already decided that I'd be replacing the OEM tape w/Gator Grip while I was on the demo ride in the boat (I'm sick).
In addition to the step surfaces, I've used small pieces of Gator Grip on the gunwale just aft of the tower mounts - makes a good step/target for people boarding from the side. Also have some strips on the bow, which make it a snap to get out there for dropping anchor. And a strip cut to size in the glove box keeps cushions cell phones and keeps keys, etc. from sliding around. I'll attach a few before and after pics.
If anyone is interested in Gator Grip for their boat, I over ordered (big-time), and will gladly sell you some of my remaining piece (42" x 42"). Here's the company's site if you want to see more pics of it in use. A friend of mine did the entire fiberglass swim deck on his Moomba. It feels awesome - the stuff is really thick compared to OEM stuff.
