Yeah i called Wake Designs and they told me that they had 'em for retrofit. She say's $70 then when i b!itched she dropped it to $50 and then i said no thanks. If they want to screw you to fix a screwed up design that's their doing but i won't take in the shorts in the process, besides the four handle scenario sucks anyway! If they really had customer service they's at least sell the retro kits at their cost to keep customers. Personally i like the idea of the homemade fix better, easier to use.

Try them at (480) 813-1833. They quoted me $40 at the boat show, $25 over the phone, and $20 when I picked them up.

None taken on your opinion of the d-i-y, Pablo - no worries. I didn't expect WD to improve their design - and couldn't wait either - so I set my WD's up like Monster's after only 3 or 4 sessions on the boat. We've found the single strap to be Much easier than the original four strap/clips - it's a winner on the Monster's and a definite ease of use upgrade to the WD's.

I guess I am offended, though, that we should have to pay WD again to get a functioning rack.

I'm with ya T, plus I enjoy improving on a design that needed a little help. The sun is tough on rubber here in AZ, so the bungee cord works fine. The single cord is alot easier to use and allows us to put boards on the rack that we couldn't before because the bindings were to close together.
