The wake behind every model of tige is pretty close to all of the comparable boats with there stock ballast systems. No body out there runs stock ballast no matter how much the factorys equip them with, that being said that is why tige makes there statement. It is no different than MC, BU, OR CC saying that you will never need to add additional ballast to there stock system.

what speed do you ride at?

prop might be outta wack or the taps might be giving up check all the blots n things on the plate i've heard a lot about that happening.

No props fine, TAPS is fine, its at just about every speed.

No and no. I think that because the running surface has changed the boat bounces on the waves more... unlike when its down and the TAPS is pushing the bow down.

When the TAPS is raised (7) its not making any contact with the water, thus the hull is riding at its natural position. With the TAPS down (1) its pushing down on the water pushing the stern up and the bow down, this would cause for a smoother ride.

with the bouncing hows the wake??

                            Your spot on here.

When the Taps plate is raised, it allows the convexV hull to be allow itself to be pulled down into the water. So your bow rides higher, allowing more air under the boat as you ride.

It is called porpousing. Basically the balance of the boat has shifted aft. It is VERY common at higher speeds in other Towboats.

so your saying that the air is making zad0030 boat bounce like that?

well you said at higher speed i think he talkin like wake speed because he says hes got the taps at 7

The air under the hull has a bit to do with it, but its mostly a balance issue.

Remember that the Convex V hulls want to pull down into the water at the Stern. The so called "hook". So this "pull" makes the nose bounce a bit at the slightest uneveness in the water surface. Taps takes care of this when it is down because it counteracts the "pull" of the hull at the stern.

Adding additional people weight to the front of the boat will help too, but if the water surface gets really rough, it's still going to happen.

BTW wannabewakeboarder, welcome to the site!
