Lake Powell

Well my plans of buying a houseboat share on Lake Powell went down the tubes when my so called partner backed out. Going to Plan B.

Anyone know of good places to stay by Waheap or Antelope point with adequate boat parking and kitchens. Looking to go week of July 8th to the 15th if any other Tige owners want to show up.

Jim,
If you are taking a lot of people, you can rent homes in Page AZ that are very reasonable. Otherwise, you are stuck with hotels that do not have full ktichens. I think that many are listed on the various Lake Powell sites.

Never thought of renting a home for the week. I will look into that as we would have needed 2 or 3 rooms to separate the kids. Both kids are bringing their boy/girlfriends if they are still together.

That's what we're doing at Shasta again this year during 4th of July week. Four bedrooms, full facilities, hot tub, satellite plasma tv, boat parking and it's costing us $2700 for 8 days versus the $3800 the houseboat would have cost.

Razz where did you find that house??? We go every year and camp, thinking of house/houseboat this year.

That is about the time we usually make it to Powell. We have always used the Paige hotels,,,would like to do the houseboat.

My only complaint about Page hotels was when my CD's got stolen out of the boat, the receptionist told me how lucky I was because a few weeks ago someone got their entire stereo system stolen. My friend had a wakeboard and rope stolen the same night. I thanked the receptionist for not giving me a heads up when we checked in the night before. That was the Comfort Inn near the Wal Mart. I won't go there again.

Tall - sorry to hear about your stolen items! When we stayed in the same Comfort Inn as Tall, we payed for a slip in Antelope Point Marina.

At these Condo places you are next to your boat. I'll see if I can find any photos of the place.

We usually plan on pulling out from Powell on July 3, SO we would just be missing you XPJim.

We usually stay at the Komfort Inn near the WalMart as well. They changed hands and it is now a Super 8 building a new Komfort Inn around the corner. As you no doubt know Tall, they built a Super WalMart around the corner. This past summer, while we were staying there, some boaters had some wakeboards and other items stolen during the night. I have had better luck (knock) by putting the cover on. One of the few times we did not cover, we were hit, CD's and everthing in the glove box,,,I guess we are straying from the bimini topic though. Lake Powell is one of my favorite topics..

We usually stay the Marriott Courtyard, sometimes I have enough points for free rooms.-- But mostly I stay because they have a pretty good breakfast buffet!
