                      Try this dehumidifier if you're worried about moisture. Its rechargeable and no mess. I have 4 and they're awesome.

                      Or, if you're bent on a shop vac, try the rechargeable model.

                        dogbert, I am definitely buying one of those dehumidifiers, especially for the V drive compartments. I always manage to spill water from my fat sac pumps.

                        Do you think that is safe to put near the engine?

                              Absolutely! There's no electricity or anything. You plug it in to an outlet when you want to dry it out.

                                those dehumidifiers look pretty sweet. Might have to look into those!
