I think part of it is the nose is so low on these boats, but I would think that too long a line and the tow boat and skiboat would be on differant wave and just make it easier to pull the bow through a wake and swamp. never towed like that so I don't have a clue.

there was a big discussion somewhere on this, about the proper length rope. I think though that most of the boats are getting swamped in place called the narrows? I think I would be watching the boat like a hawk, and would just drive it through at times!

No, the only thing I forgot was that it was on Powell.

it seems a lot happen there Least I think that's the place. Just seems scary as all get out to me. I would rather just drive it, but like I know. Never had a house boat.

Can't figure out why you'd tow it anyway, i know i wouldn't.
If you don't tow, you are burning a lot of fuel X #, tow and a lot of fuel X 1.
That being said, we rarely tow our
Tige behind the houseboat. We are in much calmer waters then Powell as well.
There was an article from Antelope marina a couple years ago, that basically concluded that too short of tow rope was the major contributer to the swampings, as the short rope pulled the boats through the wakes, and not over them.

Most people tow with the 50 or 60 foot tow line. Going through the narrows I read you should use a 100 foot line. Not a common length that people have.
