That's me. I won't, no refuse to pay someone to do work when i know i can do it myself and most of the time better than they can. I was an auto mechanic for 10 years (many years back, family biz) and have always worked on my own stuff.

Man you guys are a hard sell. I guess I am some sorta freak when it comes to selling a boat. I was very up front and let guys know the down falls of my jet I sold and I end up selling it for less than I wanted to get for it, but I guess I couldn't sleep at night if I was screwing some guy over. It must be the damn teacher in me coming out. Too bad there are so many shady guys out there.
Most of us like to be honest, but selling a $14-$16k booked boat for 9k tells me it has issues. Maybe te reason there are no photos.
Just looked up NADA, base price with no trailer, no options is $12,600.
Yeah, when you are looking at a boat that is cheap or alot less than book you want to definately look it over before you buy it. I would be more comfortable buying a newer boat over the internet. Course I wouldn't buy anything without detailed pics.
Probably right about running aground damage. The parts replacement would suggest that.
I look at it this way, if the boat is trashed (ie: interior, exterior) you can bet your bottom dollar the mechanicals were not taken very good care of. Sure a great price is good but what will you spend in hidden problems?
