Couple of questions (new tige owner)

    Hey everyone,
I got a 2000 Tige 21V at the end of the last season and basically winterized it right away. Just took it back out and was detailing it when I noticed there is a real bad bow in the back latch on the sun platform (see attached photo). Is there a way i can reinforce that since people stand on it and i dont want it to buckle in one day?

Also in the center of the boat there is like a rectangular cutout on the rug, if i sort of hop on the edge of the cutout it bows in a little. Is that a storage compartment? (Also included a picture of this)

Your fuel tank is under it and they flex like that when the corners are stepped on. Mine does. I have been under mine in a ballast install and saw how it is supported, not a big deal. Someone else may speak up about the bow. Did the previous owner stack something heavy there while in storage?

Welcome to the site and Tige community!

As any have said, that cut out in the middle of the floor is how to access the fuel tank and bilge area. I have a 24V and mine bows a little in the same spot. That compartment is actually made of metal with carpet over it. I wouldn't worry about the bowing at all. It is very heavy and strong.

As for your second "bow" on the engine hatch, mine has the exact same thing. I discovered why this is and how to fix it from getting any worse. If you open all three rear compartments you will see that the cushions sit on the two removable divider walls. These walls can move and tent to lean out towards each side of the boat and the "ledges" that the covers sit on are small. As a result the center engine hatch cover is not supported very well and can sometimes free float without any support under it, causing it to bow. To fix this I carpeted a couple of 2x4's with some trailer carpet I had laying around and drilled them in to each center divider panel, essentially giving the engine hatch a larger "ledge" to rest on when closed. Now the center hatch is rock solid to stand or sit on and the bow won't get any worse. See pic below & hope this help!

Okay! That makes sense that the fuel tank is under there, the bowing in the floor is nothing cray but slightly noticeable so that is comforting!
and Kjohnson thats a good idea! My engine compartment dividers are hardly even attached as the screws that hold them in are stripped. So maybe I need to get some angle iron and remake those dividers and I will definitely throw in some 2x4 supports like that!
Would you say your side hatches are solid enough to stand on or is that never advisable?

I did something similar. I used aluminum 90 degree pieces screwed into the floor also to prevent the dividers from being pushed towards the engine when filing my ballast bags.

My side hatches rest squarely on the grey carpeted pieces from my picture and since the side hatches are also supported by hinges on each side of the hull as opposed to the engine hatch with hinge on back - i did not add supports on the inside compartments. but I suppose you could if you feel they are not supported enough.
