    18" Boatmate Trailer Wheel Question

    Lookin for alittle help fellas.

Had to try to squeeze through a tight space last season and rashed the crap out of the rim... as you can see below. I've identified the wheel but I'm having a problem with identifying the offset. Mayhem's website says they have two different offset options and that's where I'm struggling. Everything I've read says there should be an ET# but all there is stamped is ET.... with a circle that says 1/0.

The back of the wheel identifies as Chaos 8030 18x9-165.1 to 8-170. Problem is, it comes in -12 offset and 18 offset according to Mayhem website.

Boatmate's website does not offer this particular wheel in their parts section anymore. I I've called boatmate for a few days and nobody picks up their service phone... just rings and rings.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I checked my spare and it's the only wheel that has anything resembling a stamp..... I think it's an 18. lol.

Take the wheel off the trailer and drop it off at a shop that sells Mayhem and get them to order the right one in and swap the tire.

Or just run the spare on the trailer and use the curbed one as the spare with a tire cover.

I have the same wheels on my Boatmate trailer and had to replace one of mine last year. The offset is +10. Search Google for part # 8030-8956MB. The wheel was made in 3 different offsets with similar part #'s, -12 (8030-8956MB12) +10 (8030-8956MB) and +18 (8030-8956MB18) so double check before ordering.

Thanks for the reply's. It very well may be that 10 offset, makes sense. Some of the markings on the inside of my wheel's confuse me though... they kind of lead me to believe it's the one model up from that. I have an email into boatmate.... I gave the my trailer VIN, hopefully they can clear it up for me.

The marking below led me to believe is was model 830-8976MB18 +18, when I physically measured the back space on my spare it's damn near the 5.71 from Mayhem spec sheet. Who know. Thanks again!

we had same issue with curb rash on several rims. had them redone and they came out like new. was going to run me a grand 4 new rims then mount and balance. got 4 done for $500.
new rim will run ya 250ish all in. tbis can be done for a few $$ more and change up the look.

you can see before and after. 3 of my rims were much worse than your pic.

That is the offset stamp and it is a 10.

Here's a picture of my offset stamp.

I have/had some of the same wheels. I’m trying to remember the deal from my wheel guy. I think that exact wheel is maybe only available through boatmate. It is a weird offset, we only found like 1 wheel with the same offset for me to use as a spare, since the matching wheel was 3x the price, and a longer wait through boatmate. I ended up switching to 16” wheels for a higher weight rating, as I was having problems with tires blowing almost every weekend.

I’ll see if I can find the paperwork for the wheels I ended up with, which should have the offset.

I would just pull the wheel and bring to a wheel shop, they should be able to refurb it no problem. I think Boatmate might be closed due to Covid, I know Skiers Choice and Mastercraft are closed and they are located right by Boatmate in TN.

Boatmate got back to me today via email. They said my spec sheet says +10mm offset with 78.3mm bore. I think I found it online at JEGS. Now I just gotta try to catch the FedEx guy this week. I ordered the wrong wheel already and it's shipped. JEG's said to just refuse the delivery and they will refund me, if I don't catch the FedEx guy I will have to pay the shipping to send back.

That's what I get for jumping the gun. LOL! Oh, well. Thanks for all the replies.
