    Gelcoat polish/wax 2018 RZX2

If it ever stops snowing here in western PA I’ll finally be getting ready to summerize and clean my 2018 RZX2. The gelcoat still looks great as the boat is only in its third season now, but I do plan to put some time into polishing and waxing? I was planning to use something simple such as the 3M Perfect It light cutting polish + wax (36110). Are there any precautions I need to be aware of with the specific gelcoat/finish used on these newer generation Tige boats? And any suggestions for specific products to use would be appreciated as well.

My boat is finished with a blue and sliver metal flake with a black bottom.

    Thanks!

Gel coat is relativity easy to work with compared to paint. Don’t be afraid to cut into it but also watch what you’re doing and not causing swirls with improper use or product. Lots of videos online. My favourite product to use is menzerna heavy cut 400 with a wool pad and topping it off with Jescar power lock sealant. Find the menzerna does a great job at brining it back to looking new while not taking a way the shine like some cut polish’s do. The Jescar is amazing at lasting for the majority of the season and keeping the scum line away.

Check out the HULA products. Great customer service, great products. I have been doing my 18 RZX3 with the products since new, it still looks great. https://www.hulaboatcare.com.

I use the Boat Juice products and have been really pleased with the results. Easy to apply and a shine and depth that this one of a kind and leaves your boat super slick.

Don't forget to take it easy on the graphics when you buff over them

Thanks for the advice. I’ve read good things about the Hula products. Maybe I’ll give that a try. Was thinking maybe starting with the Hang Ten cleaner wax and finishing with the Big Kahuna polymer.

I’m assuming one 16 oz bottle of each would be enough for one application???

I picked up one bottle of the Hang 10 when I got my new boat in 18. I have still have some left in the bottle. I have hand waxed the boat at least twice, possibly three times. You don't need to us a machine with it. I think it is one of the best products on the market. I usually just use the water spot remover to wipe down the boat first, then apply the Hang Ten. I usually don't wax the bottom.

Decided to go with the Hula products.

Hopefully this mid April blizzard finds its way out of town soon so I can get started...
