Yep found a few gaps as well. Little weatherstripping took care of it.

So I was not even paying attention yesterday on the water, but on the way home my wife made the comment she though the motor was pretty quiet when compared to before. So I'll take that as well worth the time to install kilmat and a little weather stripping.

What about concerns with the kilamat getting wet and moldy over time? Does anyone have an idea of what kind of adhesive mess you might have if the kilamat has to be removed for any reason? Or can it be removed?

I’m very interested in reducing engine noise....

Its a butyl rubber type insulation with a foil backing, so while I don't know long term what water will do I don't think it will affect it. Now the adhesive time will tell I guess, only running on what a few other guys have done and figured it was worth a shot. I put it on places that would be pretty easy to use adhesive remover to take it back off should I ever need to and no one would ever see it.

Nice. I didn’t realize it’s a rubber like material....I might have to try this too...

For the price, and the ease of installation, it's a no brainer. Again, it's not a huge sound difference/reduction, but I think it does reduce it a little bit. I know when I did a search, the KILMAT and NOICO were noticeably lower priced than Dynamat.. don't know if it's still the same.
