2006 22ve. PCM 330 Exc.
Last outing of the season last year, November, cruising around 30, belt broke. Engine shut down, got towed to the dock. Put it up for the winter and just got it out and did all the yearly maintenance.
Changed impeller, fuel filter, ran it for 30 minutes or so to warm the oil up, then changed the oil. Seemed to be running fine. After oil change it didn’t want to start back up. And upon turning the key back on, tach alarm starts going off. Digital readout is all pound signs. Had to manually throttle up while wife turned the ignition to get it to run. Ran a little rough. Thought maybe the fuel was the issue since I had not put any stabilizer in it. So I added some fuel conditioner and topped it off with supreme, took it to the ramp to run some of the new fuel and additive through it. It didn’t want to start at the ramp. So I get some starter fluid and throttle it manually to try and get it started. Starter fluid does nothing. Finally get it to start after several attempts, holding throttle wide open. Runs very rough.
So read about some of the similar issues others are having. Check the fuel pressure. Holding at 56. Check all of the engine grounds and clean them up. Still the same issue. Will start, but now goes into limp mode upon start and will not go above idle, which is only ~600.
Going to order plugs tomorrow, get them changed out. But seems like there’s got to be something else. Tach is still reading on perfect pass gauge.
Just looking for ideas before I take it to a shop.
