Go surf assist or trade boats

I have a 2014 z3. We love the boat but would love a better solution than my homemade surfgate. Has anyone added the go surf assist to their z3? Is it that much different than a surfgate? How hard is the install? I also have a possible buyer for our boat if we want to upgrade. No way can I buy a new one but probably in the $80-90k range. I've looked at supras and tiges. I love both of them! So buy new (used), add go surf, or be happy with what i have? Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Z3 is a great boat, but I understand the pain of putting the suck gate on the side and all. My 2 cents upgrade to a newer boat but don't upgrade to a Tige with TAPS3 and the old taps 3 plates. If you are going to upgrade get a 2020 with the GSA tabs and the GO system. Performance Marine at Lake of the Ozarks has some killer deals on the new ATX24 and ATX22 which would get you the upgraded GSA tabs and the GO system. The 24 they have priced at $89,990 and the 22 at $79,965.

wait for D&P to reply. he added gsa to his z3 and has said over and over it's a night and day gamechanger for that hull.

I've been waiting for a tug behind it for a minute to see if it's something I want to add to mine. I like the listed wave and do like the suckgate since I don't have to swap sides and feel your pain of having to attach and not lose it. gsa is a grip of coin so want to see the results before I spend it.

I think it really depends on what you're going to upgrade into, as adding GSA is going to be legit. A good friend of mine has a z3 with custom ballast and GSA, it has a great wave and that's comparing it to the big boys, rzx3, 257, etc.

If you are looking for a better wave, I would take a hard look at the Atx 24, the price point is killer for a new boat and I wouldn't be afraid to say it is tiges best boat right now. Or for 90k you could also get into an rzx or a supra sl and also have a great wave.

I put GSA on my ‘15 Z3 over the winter. I hope to get it on the lake next weekend and see how it does.

I am VERY happy with the results on our 2015 Z3, and would do it again in a heartbeat. I am so convinced of its performance that I am willing to give anyone a pull who is considering it! In Lake Havasu, AZ of course.

mdltn, load that bad boy with 1k lead, 500 under each bag in the locker, fill everything to 100%, set Surf to 1 or 2, set Taps to 1, and watch her sing! Sounds crazy, but trust me on this. Do yourself a favor though, don’t get too excited until it’s on glass water... because that’s when she RIPS!

Thanks for the tip D&P. I have the lead so I’ll load it up

Thanks for the replies. I just can't make myself like the Atx. I hate the windshields. They remind me of an axis which i've never been a fan of. A 2020 with the new GSA is probably not an option. Do the new plates make that much difference?

How hard was GSA to install?

Yes, the difference is significant. That’s my opinion, and apparently Tiges opinion too. We had Germaine Marine So Cal install ours. They have the experience and knowledge to do it right.

Install isn’t overly hard. Knowing how to get the proper position is the hard part. Wakemakers has lots of videos. If you don’t like the atx, take a hard look at a 2015 plus boat and add the GSA tabs into the touch screen.

I am assuming you have AVX? This was my winter project on my 2013 Z3. Went from VX to GSA. The install is very easy on this boat, but this was second install. Fell right in to GSA suggested dimensions (4" in from edge and actuator 1.5" from hinge). Screws and wires end up just below the false floor in the back and easily retrievable.
(sorry for the sideways picture, count not figure out how to rotate)

I'm currently adding GSA plates to my 2015 ASR. I would love to upgrade to an RZX but its not an option at this time.

I should have results and pics by Mid May.

                            TB - couple questions

1 - did you have extra weight in your boat vs the bags that came with it previously?
2 - if so has this new set-up gotten rid of the "line" created by either the VX or swim platform in your wave? Love my wave now (mid thigh height and great push) but hate the line in it (just not sure if its because the VX or platform but we have an extra 3200 lbs in our boat and the platform is a good 6-8" under water when we surf
3 - any pictures comparing the waves (Assuming you had extra weight and a suck gate previously if not please advise)
4 - did it connect to your TT (easily) or are you just using the phone ap to run it?
5 - I have a '14 RZ2 any chance you'd know if the good lineup of holes would be the same for me?
6 - did you think of moving the swim platform up higher or not needed? I'm on the endless search for a clean big wave. Don't really care about the ease of switching.

It has stock pro ballast setup but will most likely be upgrading it
2 - if so has this new set-up gotten rid of the "line" created by either the VX or swim platform in your wave? Wish I could help you here but we have not surfed behind this boat since we bought it in November. I just knew the difference that GSA had on our 22VE and I was going to put it on. I picked it up on black Friday sale for $3200.
3 - any pictures the waves (Assuming you had extra weight and a suck gate previously if not please advise)
                              I do not

Because I only had VX I don't believe this year of TT has that capability. We use the phone and Apple watch to control. Anyone out there know the answer to this (if it does I be interested in looking further into this)?
5 - I have a '14 RZ2 any chance you'd know if the good lineup of holes would be the same for me?
                              Not real sure.

Will be evaluating this next weekend and I will post results
