For convenience sake, I have zipped and strapped to the tower. I replaced my bimini with a lager one. We enjoyed the better coverage however the support poles continually worked the mounting screws loose. I wired tied them and problem fixed. I also made some additional web straps with the plastic buckles. I find they are quick and provide additional support of securing the bimimini to the tower during tow. Recommendation is to drop the bimini in the boat during tow. Just found it a bit of a pain. I had hoped to lay the bimini down while still attached however it does not clear my windshield/wind screen.
Are you talking about the boot came unzipped? I've never thought about that happening
Yep, the boot unzipped itself somehow. I just bought the boat, checked it after the first 50 miles and it was fine, 100 miles later the boot was unzipped 3/4 and the straps had been flailing around enough to tear the bimini and scratch up the tower. I was towing at night and couldn't see anything when I was checking the mirrors.

That is why I added the additional tower straps, seemed to secure it better than just two.
