that's awesome!!! I have started quite the wine collection since I have moved to CA. I love being able to buy wine in the grocery store. Can't do that in OK. So it seems like everytime I go to buy a few things, it turns into a few things + wineWhoops!!

Wow, this is the first time I have checked back since I posted. I was surprised that there were three pages of responses. Then, I realized there were about 4 posts relevant to the topic...
I thought about the snap in or over-lay. But, I want to fix the problem and not just cover it up. Before the boat was put away for the season, I noticed when I vacuumed that a good portion of the carpet was loose from the floor. I am not sure how much adhesive is left. I guess there is only one way to find out...

First question. Does anybody know what weight carpet Tige used in 2001?
Second question. How hard of a job is this? On face value, it does not look like it would be that difficult. Remove the drivers seat, middle seat, and floor access section, strip out the old carpet, then fit, cut, glue, and install the new carpet. But, I know there has to more to the project than that this.
Can anybody offer up some advice?
The carpet can be pulled up and replaced but could be hard to get all of the crumbs where the carpet is very worn. Small parts of fiber will be stuck to the floor very good.

Thanks Lee. I have done a bit of research and the 40oz carpet is not much more expensive than the 28oz. I am thinking 40oz all the way. How important would it be to get all of the little fibers off the floor? As long as you couldn't feel them through the new carpet, what harm would it be in leaving them?
Any advice for removal and installation of the driver's seat?

Lee is right, the more old carpet and glue you can get up, the better the new carpet will look/feel and adhere.
They make an adhesive remover for household carpet and flooring. I wonder if it would be gentle enough for fiberglass. Kent Achrasol is an autobody adhesive remover that is fairly mild. I've used it on plastic, carpet, upholstery without problems.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

You can also use MEK, but it will take off EVERYTHING that isn't paint or dyed.
Our refirb shop uses MEK to peel up the floor coverings in our aircraft when they come through for refirb. It takes the adhesive off pretty well, but it is also bonded to aluminum.
MEK works on carpet glues that have it as the evaporative agent in them, and adhesives that are kind of sticky. You could also try Toulene(sp?).http://www.wakeboatworld.com

I always say the more you can get off, the better it will feel. Paint is similar, you may not see it, but if you can feel it, you will see/feel it when you put the new stuff on. Make it as smooth as you can.Originally posted by G-MONEYIt hurts me to say it but go OU but only for this weekend!!!!

A buddy of mine had a Centurion with snap-in carpeting. I really liked that feature because you could take the carpet out to let it dry.Cursed by a fortune cookie: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."

Come on spharis you should know thatOriginally posted by Razzman View PostWhile we're on tequila ... many years back a buddy and i are jet skiing on a pair of old Kawi 440's on Castaic Lake in SoCal and a jet boat cuts across in front of us. They are all drunk, waving bottles and such! It got real ugly as we couldn't react fast enough and slammed into the wakes throwing us both. I slammed my face into the yoke, driving my teeth through just below the lower lip, blood everywhere and damned near knocked me out! Gotem' to shore and all the wimmens are screaming 'cause i looked like hell and the bleeding wouldn't stop. So i grab a bottle of Cuervo, take a big gulp and blow it out the hole creating a nice spray and effectivly cauterizing the hole! Tequila does have some medicinal purposes as well! Then i drank it
