It’s a Monster tower. Not sure of the model but I’m sure it’s easy to figure out on the website.

Rubber wheel is working better now that I found the correct drill speed. I’ll have to polish the hull pretty good to remove the fading where the old decals were. What do you guys recommend for polishing gel coat?

On a second note I replaced the gas struts on the rear cargo doors but the weight of the doors is still too much force and they will not stay open. Searched the site and found a link to what the force lbs was but it’s not enough. Has anyone replaced the gas struts and if so what force lbs did you use?

I’m sure you know this but, you gotta get rid of that tower. At this point, it’s a safety issue.

I’ve heard lots of things on here about the tower. I looked it over very closely and I don’t see any cracks in the welds or any stress marks anywhere on it. I can tell just by looking at it that it’s def the worst tower I’ve ever seen. Just don’t have the change for a new one right now. Just dropped 4K on interior and maintenance. That being said does anyone know of a decent priced tower that mounts to the factory mounting holes?

I haven’t installed a tower in a long time so not entirely sure what’s out there these days. I put one of Ariel towers on a friend’s boat and he ended up hating it after the first year because it wouldn’t stop squeaking. I can tell you that I spent right around 4K on my tower and it was worth every penny. That being said, I wouldn’t hesitate to drop 4K on a Samson Razor. 4K seems a bit ridiculous but, after owning one of the Metcrap Towers of Death and replacing it with something properly overbuilt but still not as nice as a Razor, it turned the boat into a far better boat. It makes such a huge difference. No shaking, no rattling, no squeaking. It’s just nice to be under. The old Metcrap was scary to be under sometimes. Remember, you can only bend a piece of metal so many times before it breaks.

...oh ya, so far as fitting the factory holes, the fronts, no problem. The rears, not going to happen. The Metcrap mounts are a joke. You wouldn’t want to use that same setup. You can certainly cover them up with the new tower though. If not, 4” Hide-a-cleats fit absolutely perfect in the old rear tower mounts. That’s what I did and it’s been great. The Samson Edge should easily fit perfectly and is actually the same design as the later towers used by a lot of west coast Tige dealers that were built by PhatBuddy. My buddy has his original Phat Tower on his 21v and it’s still solid.

Thanks for the info buddy. I’ll do some research and look for some other options. I’ve heard good things about the Samson. I just can’t swing that 4K right now.
