That’s a really cool project. That door is awesome. I assume it’s exceptionally heavy? Your base has a definite pucker factor though. Especially once you put the glass on it. There’s not much from keeping that thing from tipping front to back or folding over side to side. All that solid wood, glass, and metal has got to be pushing 500#s.

Thank u sir. Like you I was afraid that the desk would easily tip over. However, it is surprisingly stable. Even so I added a piece of rectangular shaped plate to the bottom of the frame just for piece of mind.

^^^Now you’re talking. I can certainly appreciate the “surprisingly stable” element. I built this coffee table for this couch nearly 15yrs ago. No one thought it would work. It’s never once tipped over. Even with two kids beating the hell out it.

I've being slowly plugging away the last few weeks when I have some time. Both boxes are now primed, I dapped all of the screw holes, and will be using a marine paint to seal the outsides. Also, started on the front panel over the weekend. The smaller hole will be for the WS650 that is currently in the helm wall to bring it forward. I stepped the panel down on the right side so I could still use the space behind for a bit of storage otherwise it was quite a bit of lost space. I also started mocking up how I will do the LED's using a piece of 1" aluminum to make a ring around. The outside strip will be RGB to match the rest of the speaker rings in the boat and the inside ring will be blue to match some of the other interior lighting I have. I'm using opaque half inch water line for the rings which will then be covered with a beauty ring on top. It pays to hold on to things over the years, I already have the grey carpet for the front panel, already had all of the LED's from previous projects, and even had some of the wood laying around. Hoping to test the drivers side box in the next day or so.

After that it will be then pulling everything apart to install the dedicated amp for the subs and rewire the syn 6 to run the 4 pairs of inboats.

I did a full sound system upgrade found here

I also did a little EVA decking upgrade. This isn't a name brand. Got it from Amazon. Here is a few before and after pics. Worked out okay but be sure to use extra spray glue and roll out the material a week or so early so that it flattens out. Otherwise the edges will curl.

AJWard: Those graphics really update your boat. Nice work!

I recently removed my garbage can and have used the hole as a vent for the additional sub that will be going in the passenger locker. I used a cutting board that I cut the handle off of. Then drilled holes, used my chop saw, and router to shape everything. Minus a couple minor flaws I think it came out pretty good. Also, shown is a mock up as to how the sub panel will look. Behind the blue ring will have blue LED's shinning in and RGB facing out.

Currently working on my new amp rack and will start running the new 0 gauge feeds soon.

The cutting board turned out awesome! That’s cool, man.

With a new 23ZX going on order soon, I need to figure out what to do with my garage door.

Our '15 Z3 with the tower folded down fit easily through the 8' tall door.

A 23ZX with the tower folded down on 15" trailer wheels is 8'8" tall. That means I have to increase the height of my garage door 1 foot.

You would think that would be an easy fix, adjust the track add a 1ft door piece. Nope! Wow! Getting quotes of >$4,000 to just replace the door. I am being told I need a new door, track and opener. Then just trash the 3 year old door and opener.
That price does not include the cost to move the header and brick work.

Thinking of ditching the traditional door and going with something else.

                            Ugh!

I hate the picture tool - No matter what I do the picture is not orientated correctly.

booms, I learned this lesson the hard way. was a builder for a minute and framers framed the garage door opening to 9ft instead of 8ft. I said go with it as it can't be that expensive rather than fix it. I was spending around 2grand for 2 doors(1-8ft 1-16ft wide and 8ft tall) and 2 openers. bill came to $4300 for both doors and openers in a 9ft height. I about crapped. had to nix some granite to recoup.

those doors you have are a premium design. 4k seems a little steep but I bet you are a minimum 3k. opener should be fine if you have 1/2 hp. I'd question that part.
moving the header and brickwork is going to be another couple grand minimum and have you pulled the drywall back on the inside to see how the headers are ran to see how much work that is going to be?

I know this won't come out right BUT one of the big things I missed when I lived in the midwest from the south/west was the availability of cheap non-union undocumented labor for jobs like this. I've needed a few things done on the house I flipped last year and all it took was a quick drive a few miles away to the new community going in and I could find all kinds of trades willing to work on saturday/sunday on the cheap for cash.
