Broken Alpha Z Tower

How many people have had this kind of problem? This boat has never had a tube rope attached to the tower . We tried to tig weld it with no luck.

I think there are other threads about this. Welding it is super difficult. Welcome to New Tower City. What year?

Don't think I've ever seen the issue up at the light. I've always seen it down at the base usually where the pin goes through. That sucks!!! This is becoming something that I get very nervous about with my own boat. On a slight chop my tower gets some good side to side movement and even get a squeak in the drivers side base. I'm afraid one day I may see a crack too.

The way it's sitting off center after breaking leads me to believe that it was stretched to get into the mounting holes and has been stressed since installed. Something finally gave and it popped.
