Speed Set not working... possibly the controller?

I have a Speed Set that is not working. Just purchased a used boat and gambled that it couldn't be that much to fix?? Wow... the dealer just suggested that it was probably the buttons (controller) unit that may have gone bad. New part is $680??? Is there any way to debug this? Are there other options for parts? I REALLY need the Speed Set to work! It's on a 2013 R20. I guess I trusted too much!

When I turn it on, I see Speed 0.0 appear on the dash. I believe that is where i then set the speed I want and then get close to that speed and let it take over. I can't ever set the speed. It doesn't respond to the arrow up, arrow down speed buttons.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I doubt you can even get the original panel from Tige anymore... I don't think they carry them because they just fail too fast and too often. KoolAid on here should be able to tell you if they're available, and if you want to go with the factory panel that's your choice.

But... the thread that chpthril linked to discusses our upgraded SpeedSet replacement panel. It's just $350 and once installed you should never have to worry about it again. Read the thread to get comfortable with things, and when you're ready click here for the order form.

This is EXACTLY what I was hoping for! Thanks! Glad I had a 2 week wait for service at the dealership! I will pick my boat up and give this a shot!

Because of the upgraded unit, we no longer stock the original one. The upgraded unit is leaps and bounds above the original.

Hey guys. I have 2007 22ve with the same issue. Speedset and Faster, both don’t work. Only Slower works so each time I turn it on I have to start from 255 abs work my way down.
Can someone provide a link to purchase replacement?

Make sure you have cruise control button on and with boat running in neutral push and push up button on speed set at a very deliberate pace if that does not work hold it down. You should see the speed setting start to go up and once you get to the correct speed you want stop. Then when the skier is in the water just punch it full throttle and once it hits speed set it will slow down. Do not pull throttle p
back leave it all the way down. Don’t worry it it feels like it’s going to go past the speed set as it gives extra power to get the skier up then slows to the set speed. My up,and down work usually but the middle button does not. Also sometimes it just goes to 50 mph and will not go down so I just shut off cruise control and it resets and I start over. Try that if you have not already. It does not work without the cruise control button being on.
