    Trailer Decision

As stated in an earlier threat I have just ordered a 24VE. I have a couple of days to finalize everything and on the trailers I have heard the the Dorsey is not only a better built but easier to load and unload vs. the Easy Loader.

I like the fact that when you call Dorsey, you are talking to a builder, or the man himself, and they don't have to transfer you to someone else. They have all the answers, give you discounts, and ship extremely fast. I also like the down-home attitude they display. And the trailers are nice; I need a new one in about two years, and I'll be calling Dorsey.

I have a Dorsey and am extremely happy with it. I think it is the only trailer my dealer will order if I remember right. My only problem with it is self induced and that is that I launch in saltwater a lot and it is rotting away. I am thinking of ordering a galvanized Dorsey when I need a new one though.

I have to agree. On the 22V I just sold the Dorsey seemed to be built very sturdy. Now that you mention it, I did call Dorsey trying to obtain the length of the trailer at the break point for the swing away tongue. I only have 25'8" in the garage I house my boat in. They responded within 24 hours with 23'3". That is encouraging.

Does anyone have the trailer with either the wheels or rollers on the prop guard? What do you think about them?

I have a Dorsey sitting under my 22Ve. Did not come w/ the propgaurd wheels, but I'm happy with it anyway.

If you have the chance, get the propgaurd wheels and spare tire mount.

Thanks for the info on the 22VE and the Dorsey trailer. Any thoughts on the ease of loading VS. the Easy Loader. I have heard that the bunks are arranged differently and many times you have to back off the easy loader to load properly. The Dorsey fits the Tige better----thoughts. The price is about $2000 + more for the Dorsey. Is it worth it?

I have Dorsey and no problem with it. Do wish I had the propgaurd wheels, but I just make extra close attention to it when I am going over uneven ground

I just drag over the uneven asphalt a few times..............Eventually it doesn't rub anymore.

Sounds like Dorsey is the way to go. No one has even mentioned the Easy Loader---I wonder do they exist. Just kidding.

I have a dorsey, and they custom lowered the bunks, and winch points to help fit my 22v in my garage. Very happy with the trailer.

I wanted to put a word in for Prestige Trailers. Have one for my 2004 22V and it looks and functions great. Have had to call them with questions and they couldn't have been more responsive. Seems to be very well made trailer and fits the 22v perfectly.

I have a Road Runner trailer that came with my Tige'. Based on the discussion I wish I had a dorsey but I guess it does not matter since I keep my boat on a lift 100' from my back door.
If its not fun, Why do it?
