Bent Tracking fins can I use 2 instead of 3?

My front tracking fin got severely bent.

Is there any reason why I can’t just run the 2nd and 3rd and just throw away the bent one?

I am thinking that the boat will still track okay with 2 fins.

    Boat is a 2002 20V.

Did it have 3 to start with?

If so, what did you do to deal with the bolt holes?

Nope, it’s a 2019 and it came from factory that way. There was a thread 6-7 weeks ago about this same topic. Guy bent front fin and the consensus was to remove and seal up holes and test it. Not sure what the recommendation was for sealant, but I’d start with something you can remove in case u want to put a new fin on at a later day.

My front fin took a strike and came off. To save my season, I filled the holes with marine-Tex epoxy. Wasn’t the easiest thing to do, packing epoxy laying on your back on a horizontal surface. It was hard to tell how much I got in the holes. To do the job right on my 22v would require pulling the tank and to do that looks like I may have to pull the vdrive off the transmission, AND remove the metal frame around the floor hatch as the mounting tabs on the tank make it bigger than the hole cutout. After realizing how much work this was going to be I decided that 2 fins was just fine. [emoji846]

I haven’t noticed any difference in handling.
