Just curious if you all prefer to travel with your towers in the upright position, or if you lower them when trailering. Advantages and disadvantages you have found to either way of traveling.

I keep my tower up. Fuel mileage sucks ,10mpg, if we take it out of town. Put it down once and didn't like how it rested on the seatMikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

up always, unless I have a garage that I can put it into, then I lower it right before backing it in. When I get to design my house, it will have a garage with a door big enough so i can just back it in.
The bugs come right off with one of those scotch bright pads. That is if you have the polished alumn. Like my tower is.Originally posted by G-MONEYIt hurts me to say it but go OU but only for this weekend!!!!

i read somewhere some time that a guy used to tow with his tower down all the time. Said it gave hime like 5 mpg better. He went and got some thick foam that it sits on. Pretty nice I thought, but then again, not to sure about it.Originally posted by G-MONEYIt hurts me to say it but go OU but only for this weekend!!!!

There is no way that having the tower up when hauling would cause you to lose 5 mpg due to drag.
There is very little surface area there to cause resistance.
Hauling my 3600 lb camper only caused me to lose 4 mpg over being non loaded and there is some serious drag.Formertigeowners.com
