    Engine HP

I just sold my 04 22v with 375 HP and ordered a 24VE. I ordered it with 340HP and am wondering if I should go up to the 360HP. Any advice out there.

Did you think 375 was too much for your 24v? 340hp is enough for a 24ve.

I am pleased with the 340 HP on my 05 24V. It takes a little longer to get on plane if I have over 1700 pounds on board, but ?would the 360 be that much better?

It seems like I don't even notice it until I have over 1000 pounds.
      Be excellent to one another.

The 375 HP was more than enough for the 22V. I just do not want to have regrets with the overall performance of the 24VE by not purchasing a motor that will perform with 1000 lbs in the boat and a boarder behind. It sounds like the 340 performs and may be all I need.

Which motor has the closed cooling? My 375 did by I heard it has changed. Does the 360 HP?

The 360HP does not have closed cooling (have this engine in my RZ2). I think the 400 has closed cooling?

Yes the 400hp is the one that is closed cooled.

I guess the bottom line is: Will the 340HP push the 24VE well enough or is there a big difference between that and the 360 etc. I know the 375 pushed my 22V awesome.

i wouldn't think 20hp would make a difference at all.

That is what I am hearing---I just want to make sure, especially for the cost difference.

what's the main purpose for the boat, boarding and surfing? The 340hp will be more than enough. For skiing you might want more.

340hp will do fine. i had the same concerns as you but since ive been out in a few with the 340 i no longer have that concern. you most likely will pick up some fuel economy as well. did you test drive the one with the 340?
