I rode and drove Zack’s boat last year and it was a pain in the *** and not nearly as good as the 21v. I know he’s done a lot to it since and we haven’t managed to hook up this year but, it’s still the same system. It honestly made me a bigger fan of the 21v and it’s simplicity. I know the new systems on the brand new boats are getting easier and easier but the simplicity of the 21v is undeniable.
The new Go! Surf System takes a lot of the setting up problems away. It really simplifies it, trust me. The 21V is an awesome boat! I had a 2002, (my 1st Tige) bought it brand new and had it for 10 years, put on over 850 hours pretty much trouble free.

I think I said it before, but my frustration with the whole ATX thing was the idea of low $70k for one. It's just not a realistic number. You will need to spend WAY more than that to get a usable boat. If we want to talk about how much better ATX is vs Moomba you need to compare them at the same price point. Right now I can buy a NICE floor model Max that is mildly optioned for $64k. I can't even buy an ATX for $64k. So if you purchased the absolute cheapest ATX at $71ish, which boat would be smiling as it blows by the other? The Max would have a nice, if not great surf wave. The ATX would have a white wash mess as it doesn't even have a surf system on it.

In the end, I would have the same payment if not more by buying a new ATX, optioned the way we did vs keeping my RZX that we love. Maybe if we found the limit to our wave and we weren't happy with it.... I don't think we are even close yet to finding our max wave. It keeps getting better and better right now.
This boat wasnt just made for the elite surfer. This boat was made for everyone who might want a wake/surfboat thus the option of the expensive system. You want an ATX outfitted like an RZX? guess what? Its going to cost something to get there. You want a basic ATX with the ability to add stereo components as you go and a surf system? Guess what? It can be done around the 80K mark.

The problem I am seeing here is that those who have bad *** RZX's are pissed that this boat isnt as nice lol. It wont ever be guys and it sure as heck wasnt ever priced to be. An ATX with all the crazy options is going to get out of that budget zone, why? Because at that point its damn near an RZX with hard parts. Will the interior and non walkthough be less? sure, will the tower be less? yep. And so will the price tag, to the tune of what 12K less? Granted thats a full blitzed ATX vs an RZX2.

The Rzx lineup this year base comes much simpler. So that 138K number is for a very basic Rzx. The Rzx lineup this year has the ability to build it from mild to wild, just like the R series.

I think everyone needs to remember that.

Just asking or some perspective here regarding all the boats. Just want to make sure everyone knows the full slate of what is what.

We do have the wave pretty well figured out, now, at least the goofy wave, but what’s the difference if the boat goes into limp mode while I’m surfing, so I can just run in to transom? Then idle back across the lake, load it on the trailer, and drag it back over the sierras every Monday?

My problem isn’t that everything breaks, well it kinda is, but at least fix the thing, or do something to make it right. Hell, if someone acted like they even give a **** that they jacked up 2 of our short lived summers, that would help. But nope, it’s “we’ll look at it, but we are slammed busy, as you can imagine”, like I’m the ******* nuisance.

At least I have buddies with boats that don’t constantly break, but oh yeah, I still have to make the payment on this one. That’s the great news.

I’m jealous of yours, and our other buddy with the 21v, the old ones seem to run right!

Zack, if I was you. I would write a well worded letter with facts and dates of issues then send it to the factory to see if you can get some of the excellence customer service that I hear about it. Maybe ur dealer is not experienced enough to truly figure out your issues. I started my letter when I have 3 issues in the first 3 Lake trips and have added to it throughout the year. I don’t plan to send it anytime soon as hopefully most my issues are resolved

But please dont say its impossible to build a usable ATx that can be had for in the 70s. I have one here. Its a boat that has a touch screen, ballast, surf system trailer and in boat speakers. Its exactly what is needed for those to go out and surf a bomber wave without spending 130K.

This ATX is around the same money as an R23 and people are having an issue. I cant wrap my head around it.

R23 in the 70’s? Hmmmm maybe a leftover with zero options could go at 78-79k.

Maybe that’s a good call. I’m in a pretty frustrated state, at the moment, especially now knowing that my season is probably done, if it isn’t, I’m going to have to spend the rest of it praying I don’t break down.. I have a laundry list of stuff that needs to be fixed or replaced, and waiting to hear how that goes, too.. I just can’t understand how a boat, and trailer, of that supposed caliber can have so many issues, and all between 27 and 200 hours.. my buddy had 1900 hours, and like 13 years, on a Sanger, and not a single problem. That was a like $40k boat..

I think you’re misunderstanding me. I’m definitely not upset that the atx is not as nice as an rzx. Maybe a little upset that a comparable rzx and atx are only $12k apart. I don’t care about diamond stitching, touch screens, power towers, etc. but when $12k separates the value line from the premium line, well where is the value? Won’t the rzx line hold value better than the atx line? For me that has to come into play as well

The website shows the “very basic rzx2” to have a standard option list very similar to how I optioned the atx.

                        I have to agree.
I for one was excited for the ATX as a potential upgrade in the future from the 23V I just built.
At 70K it seemed like a good deal for a surf ready tige without the bells and whistles that I don't really care for anyway.
Now that I've seen the real numbers I'm less interested because that 70K boat is really a 100 120K boat once you put it where it needs to be.

Surf system, bimini, 2:1, a reasonable speaker system, a trailer and we're no longer in the "budget boat" category IMO. (yes this is an opinion, but to be frank no one that doesn't either work at a dealer and is completely jaded to the current boat prices, or has more money than they know what do do with thinks 120K is "budget". That can buy a (admittedly small ) house in my part of the country.)

For that money I'd just go buy a 3yr old Nautique personally.

I'm just annoyed at all the "game changer" comments and hype about this boat. Yeah it's a sweet boat, but IMO it's hardly a game changer. It's just another base model boat that you need to option out to be what they claim it already is.
Who is going to buy this boat without a bimini, without a few speakers, and without the surf system? No one I'd imagine, and certainly not the audience that they are targeting.

While agree that $100K - $120K is a lot of money with no context attached, its all relative. This may very well be a true budget friendly in-board surf boat. What are other 22ft boats going for? Both those that are considered more premium and those that consider themselves "budget" options? MB, Moomba, Supreme? Axis and NTX? Heck, whats a 24" surf bow rider go for? I say 24ft, cause its a 22ft on the inside.

Not stating this a fact, but just tossing it out there. I have not seen any 2020 pricing yet.

Who is going to buy this boat without a without the surf system?
Is this even possible? I know surfgate was an option year 1 and maybe 2, but I think it became standard, or everyone dropped the topic as the stupid dealers wised up

Agreed it is relative, but a decent spec axis or moomba can be had in the low 70's brand new. The same spec atx is 10-30K more from what I've seen.
And yep, the Surf system is optional on the ATX and not included in any of their advertised low prices.

I would love to see some real world prices as these get out there. I'm basing all this on quotes I've read here and elsewhere on the interwebs.
Moombas, MB's, etc are already out there, granted they are 19's but the price won't change that much.

Not sure where these $100-120K numbers are coming from. There are a couple on onlyinboards for under $90K. That is with bimini, tower speakers, Raptor 400 w/ 2:1, heater, trailer, surf system, and a few more options.
