Not your fault Unstuck. That’s just the times we live in. Self absorbed, inconsiderate, conceded pricks abound. It’s their world and you’re just taking up oxygen.
Preach brotha. Maybe I’m just getting old and grumpy, but just about every day, the inconsideration of others drives me a little more insane!!
Got to see one in person last night. Well kind of. Never actually got inside of it. Here are a few pictures of items I did notice while waiting for my turn.
The transom really kicks back to form the transom seats. We really liked the seats back there, but it really reduces the usable size of the swim deck. Seems like we always have a million kids standing on ours. This would make it really crowed.

Speaking of the swim deck, it has a pretty nasty edge going around it. Hopefully it is fully out of the water when surfing or it will cut the wave pretty good I imagine.

The new actuators are full beef. As I understand it they are electric over hydraulic, which gives them their strength.

I was FAR more impressed with the tower once I saw it. I was dreading it at first in pictures. I could be very happy with it. It is yet to be seen if that bimini will take your head off as you get in or out of the cabin area. Looks like the tower could easily be moved forward several inches to help alleviate that potential problem. This is the only reason we passed on an FI23 once upon a time.

This is the step from the swim deck on to the engine cover. It also covers up the blower vents. The exposed metal edge will ruin someones day when their pinky toe hits it as they climb in.

The rear locker was huge. Looked very similar to the lockers in the Moomba Max. The salesman on duty said the bags fill the locker almost completely full once they are filled. The bag didn't look that big to me.

From what I saw I was impressed overall. Hopefully I will get an opportunity to really climb around it one day. We are still very interested in this new line.
Warning: One mans rant below. You don't have to read it.
Is there some kind of boat show etiquette? Perhaps some unwritten rules? There should be. My family drives 38 miles in rush hour traffic to get to the ATX party at Germaine. We walk in to the showroom where the new ATX is displayed right in the front. We just kind of stand there for a minute and look at it. I'm impressed. I notice the tower right away and really like it. My instant impression is, I like it. We see a couple in the boat talking with the salesman. As a family we all slowly walk around the boat patiently waiting for them to leave so we could climb in. We get to the back of the boat and my kids climb up the stairs and stand on the swim deck. I tell them not to go in the boat, that we need to wait our turn. So they just stand there. Five minutes or so go by and my youngest is getting grumpy. I pull out $20 and tell my oldest to take him out and get some food. Turns out the food was free! Thank you Germaine. (Never did get that $20 back.......) I continue to wait. I walk around the boat again. I walk up the stairs. I walk over to a nice ZX parked next door and look it over. I walk back to the ATX. I walk back up the stairs. I listen to the salesman talking about a test drive in Utah Lake (?!?!?!). You'll really be able to show off that wave in 3-4' deep water. He then talks about how great the 360 engine is with 360 HP. I had to butt in at that point and questioned what engine was in it. I said the 400 and he said the 360. I asked about the transmission and he said 2:1. I tuned out at that point, still standing on the swim deck. A little more time goes by and the sales man asks if I want to come in. I said I don't want to step on anyone's toes. The couple didn't get the hint as he just sat at the observers seat and she in the drivers seat. The two places I really wanted to be at. Could I ask them to move? Another minute goes by and I give up. I climb down the stairs, put my shoes on and round up my family. They were scattered looking at boats parked outside. I grab a bite to eat and we head for home. On the way out we drive by a blue/white/black ZX1 that is beautiful. I get the go ahead from everyone that we should buy it. We get out and look around it. Even climb in. Nice that it was empty. Overall we were there for exactly one hour. I waited no less than 30 minutes to get in that boat. I sure hope they buy it and enjoy their time on Utah lake where they'd be better off in a Yamaha.
Sorry.
I picked up my boat yesterday, but got there late so they had to lock mine up for me in the parking lot.. I didn’t see an ATX inside, through the window, so either they don’t have one yet, or it’s behind some other boats in there..
Interesting to hear that you ended up liking that tower. That seemed to be kind of the general consensus, that everyone was disappointed with.
You were the right guy to go see it, you’re good at spotting, and pointing out some stuff that others may not notice.
I still look forward to climbing on one.. I’d still really like to see or ride on one on the water somewhere.. and I’d really like to see someone that isn’t trying to sell one, with a video riding it.
Unfortunately most people are assholes these days. I see it everywhere, very inconsiderate and self absorb. But I can say there are still a few good people out there. The surf community has been nothing but spectacular but every dealer is a ****. Keep your head up and continue to be a good example for your kids bro!

And I'm one of the biggest. But I do try to be considerate of others. It would drive me crazy looking around a boat and seeing someone waiting for me. I'd have to quickly finish up what I was doing right then and give them a chance to get in.
I'm not knocking the dealer at all. They have always been good to me and really put up with a lot from me. I think the sales guy in the boat at that time was misinformed about his product, but that happens. It's our job to be informed when it comes down to making decisions.

I’d have to disagree with your dealer statement. Our dealer performance marine is amazing and they go above and beyond for all their customers. We’ve bought 2 boats from them and my brother has bought one from them. Amazing guys, Joe, jeff, grant, Barry they are all awesome!

wow....
my gf and I talk about the same thing. everyone here in vegas is all about me me me.... don't give 2 poops about anyone else. it's turning in to a sad sad world...
Good RANT all of it except for the part about Utah Lake Ive been on that lake for over forty years now, water or not, algae or not
Certainly being considerate and thoughtful towards others is not practiced much anymore but is a skill that we are in need of and should be taught to all.
Thanks for sharing.

Sorry.
To my knowledge and Ill have to double check, that ATX had the 360 in it. The 360 is ususally a 1.5-1 and the 400 and up is the 2-1. We tend to order some one off stuff every now and again. That 360 has the 2-1 in it, albeit not standard. We did this specifically for the altitude if my mind serves me right to see how it does. We know the story on the 1.5-1 and its not enough.
Since he was mistaken on the torque number you tuned him out? Reasonable I presume. Or maybe it was a long night and his brain was fried? Just offering up another perspective.
I wont get into the 360-400 debate its futile. Ive ran them both and aside from one having a cool raptor insignia on the cowling I dont notice a difference.

"A proud dealer of Tige, Supra, Moomba and ATX performance boats"
I tuned out because I was already frustrated and because of other things I overheard and saw. Then he became the third salesman to offer his opinion on what engine Utah customers need to purchase. The problem is those three salesmen have offered up 3 different motors. So how is one supposed to know what they really need? It's not like a car dealership. We can't just go pick out the boat with the options we want/need off the lot and take it for a test drive. A lot of times we have to go off of what the salesman says when placing an order. Who wants to pay $9k extra for a motor they don't need, especially in a "value line" boat? Worse yet is purchasing a boat that is under powered. I've made that mistake once and don't want to do it again. What happens if this salesman sells a bunch of under powered ATX's here in Utah? Is that the customers fault for not knowing? Or the customers fault for taking the word of the salesman? Either way the customer will have a bad taste for ATX.
One thing I’ve found with salesmen is they always give an answer wether they have a clue about the correct answer or not. I’m not just talking about boats either. A well trained salesman will have the confidence to day “I do not know, let me check with the dude that does know or go look it up”

You know I feel the pain with you, on that one, and I’ll save my standard rant as everyone has probably heard it 100x too many.
That is going to be a black eye on ATX if they start putting stuff at elevations that can’t handle it, and it is a “value” line, but it’s still $100, or even more boat.
Maybe there’s just a learning curve for all the sales staff, customers, and everyone else, as there is no info on them yet. Everything is coming from the factory. There’s no sales or customer feedback yet. I’m curious to see what people think of them after they spend the money, load them up with people and extra weight. I think that when we’ll hear what the boat can actually do.

I have seen pictures of this particular boat in action and was very impressed with the wave. At that time there was 7 guys in the boat at Jordanelle Reservoir - 6600 ft elevation. So what ever engine/transmission combo is in that boat, it's good enough for me. I wouldn't order a bigger one. Now we know that the 360 with 2:1 is the same as the 400 with 2:1, so if it's cheaper to get the 360 with 2:1, that would be the way to go and save the up charge of the 400. If it turns out the 360 with 2:1 is not enough up here than one needs to skip over the 400 and look at the 440.
Even in this thread we are starting to get some feedback. We do still need to be patient as it comes in. These boats are just a few weeks old now. At this point the ideal thing for me would be to get to take one out for a day and just play with it as if it was ours...maybe even without a salesman. Just let me learn it on my own. Then I'd only have myself to blame if I picked something wrong.

I feel you there, and that’s a really solid point on the 360 to 440. I hope you get out on one sooner than later, I feel like you would provide some solid answers for us.
Does anyone know if you can buy the tunes from Indmar, after the fact? And why aren’t some of these aftermarket tuners available to tune boats? Just too small of a market? Probably a super small market of guys that would actually run them.
