I think sub-floor sacs are Tige and above floor are aftermarket and not produced by Tige.

I’d buy that! My Subfloor bags look like Cnotes orange surround around the fitting. Plug n plays above the floor are WakeMAKERS. Is there an adhesive that might work to seal it back up while I wait for new bag?

        No, its just poor manufacturing.

The drain is on the bottom of the bag,but the fitting sticks out about an 1.5Inch. Add the 90deg elbow fitting on the hose and they stand out about 2inches from the bottom of the bag. Now all this lays on a flat floor which will put a lot of pressure on the fittings. I assume this stress is what caused the bag to fail. I guess putting the lead wake bags around the fittings to keep the stress of the fittings is a better option. Does anyone do this?

            Do you make your bags?

Fly High makes my Customs as well as we sell/install their standard sacs. Tons of threads about fitting failures from the other guys.

Hose routing and fitting configuration can make a difference in fitting lifespan. I like to avoid having a 90* fitting and hose between the back of a sac and the rear locker wall. This seems to put a lot of unwanted stress on a fitting. An ideal setup would be a straight fitting through a bulkhead wall.

Makes perfect sense. I guess I’ll be stuck with what I got until warranty runs out. I don’t like having two bags. Just 2x the chance for failures. The whole sub-floor thing in the R23 is just a marketing scheme IMO. No way the boat can surf with just the subfloor ballast. (I tried early on). So I might be pulling out my subfloor at some point and just have 1 bag on each side to deal with.

Is there a benefit to keeping the subfloor was n my R23 that I’m not seeing?

Considering there is a sub floor cavity for ballast and its the aftermarket above floor sac thats failed, I would not abandon the factory sub-floor.

IMO, the issue is a boat manufacture designing a plumbing schematic for a sac they dont produce, and aftermarket sac manufactures designing a PnP sac to fit the fore mentioned plumbing.

I think I got my custom sacs from chpthrl in 2013 or 2014. Zero issues and I had 7 fitting per bag.

totally agree with this statement by chp. these fittings need to be oriented so they are straight out of the bag. the right angle fittings are just a poor design.

also, not sure they still do it now, but when i toured tige factory back in november '17, they were making their own bags, had a whole section of the assembly line set up for it, next to the vinyl.

I think Tige started building their own sacs in about 2012/2013 when they switched from threaded ports and 3/4 hose to integrated barbed thru-hulls and 1" hose.

Upon further inspection, the drain port is actually on the side of the bag and not the bottom as I previously posted. I assumed it was in the bottom because the right angle fitting on the hose is pointed straight up, so the hose is twisting the bag when no water in it, but then the bag must twist the hose when full of water.

Should l just fix the orientation of the 90deg fitting on the hose or should I have my dealer do it. If the boat was at my house, I’d just fix it real quick but I keep it 20min+ away in storage.

The female quick connect should spin freely on the male side. But it sounds like you need to loosen the hose clamp, let the female QC rotate in the hose, then retightned the clamp. Allowing the hose to rest in a more natural position with less pull on the sac and fitting.
