    Blue plugs?

I was winterizing my boat the other day and unscrewing the last of the blue plugs in the engine block when it broke off. The threads are still in the engine block and the wing nut plug broke off clean. My question is where can I get a new one. 1999 2200V with Mercruiser 315hp.

Your local dealer should be able to get you one or have one.
I'm on a boat man. I got my flippy floppies....

An easy-out would work or you can use a straight slot screwdriver.

PM me your address and I can get from my dealer and send them to you. By not having a dealer do you mean tige dealer? Any boat dealer will carry them.

For the threads go to sears and buy a reverse thread pull out. Or something like that. Just explain to the sales person in tools and they will know.

you could use a dremel tool to make a slot in it, then use a flat head screw driver.

On my boat (same as yours), the blue plugs actually go into a brass fitting which you can also remove. It will probably be easier to remove it. The passenger side might be a bit trickier because there's a sensor on that side.

How hard is it for you to get at?? I had one do the same thing that was a pain to remove. I used a screw driver and all it did was create little shavings. I used a screw removal bit and that worked. Hope is not on the bottom , that would be a real pain to remove, when they get real low its hard to see.

On a V-Drive, it's a pain. Even though you can remove the side panels on either side of the engine, it's reversed, so most things you want to get at are at the stern and you have to reach around the engine to get at them. Also, it seems like the engine sits lower between the stringers on a V-Drive.

The plug that broke off is on the drivers side of the engine. The hole is upside down so I can not see it while working on it. To top it off the piece that broke off is hollow so the threads are in place but all the water drained out of the block after I broke the wing nut off. I will need a large easy out I guess. I will tackle the project this weekend.

I did mean no Tige dealer in Louisiana. I will call a local boat dealer and see if they can get me one. Thanks for all the feedback.

Shane post up on how you resolve your broken plug issue. I bet this has happened to a lot of Tige owners.

Sounds like it's the one attached to the knock sensor. I'd check with Lee if you can remove the sensor from the engine block, it might make it easier to work on.

That's a pain to get to where it is now.

One thing i did was put a Mirror in the bottom of the boat under where the plug was so I could see what I was doing.

What a PITA. I hope it never happens to me. I may just replace my blue plugs every few years just to hope it helps it.
