    on/off for tower speakers?

I didn't want to hijack the altenator thread so I'll start another one. I got to thinking that there would be times you might not want the tower speakers on (at least in my case, moonlight cruise, wife beating on head, etc ) and it would save some power drain to the batts as well. How would you do that? In my case one of my amps will be powering the tower speakers and the sub, so how could you cut power to just the tower?

I thought of that then realized that would kill the sub as well.

Here is another option. I picked up a couple of these after reading a thread and seeing them in action on talltigeguy's boat.

On my head unit the rca outputs that are for the amps are fadable so I have my tower speakers hooked to the front rca outputs and then just fade the stereo to the rear and that turns down the tower speakers.

Where did you pick those up? What brand are they?

I bought the PAC LC1 from a store on Amazon. They were $15 each and I thing $9 dollar shipping. Saw them on talltigeguy's bought also and liked the idea.

                I did the same thing.

We have one for the sub, works great.

Never thought about getting one for the tower speakers, but I’ve only had them up for two trips.

After reading this I’m going to get one for the tower speakers too.

I have a sub dedicated to the Tower speakers, so I use a toggle from the dash that was unused.

This is a pic of what mine look like on the dash. I think you would hardly beleive that they are not stock.

Note the three knobs on the upper left dash, one is for the tower, one for the sub and one for the interior speakers. That way, I can have the interior speakers muted and still blast out to the rider as well.

This is exactly what I am doing on my stereo. I am using the fader to split the tower speakers. I have the Wetsounds 485 in the middle with 2 Pro 80 on the outside. I will turn the pro 80 towards the beach when hanging out in the afternoon so I need to fade out the 485's so I don't blast music everywhere. Then it also gives me the option to fade the 485's if we go out riding again in the afternoon and I don't want to flip the pro 80's around again.

                              Coach,

So you will blast the entire lake even when there is no one outside of the boat? How do you have the interior speakers run?

It seems that the tower speakers will overwhelm the interior, unless you can shut them off.
