Coolant Question

I just had the same issue on my 2023 ATX 24 Type S, 50hrs. Get the annoying beep and temp goes from 160 to low 200s when I'm at full throttle. Warning alarm goes off and limits engine power to around 20mph. Dealership wants me to bring it in, 2+ hours away. Read through the forums and going to check out common causes. Interested to hear if there are any other symptoms other than the heater issue and leaking couplink? (Fault code SPN 110 FMI 15)

DO NOT run your boat over 200. You are going to burn up the cats. Could be numerous things. Impeller, low or air locked coolant, clogged strainer, bad belt.

I got in contact with Tige customer service and this was their reply

“SPN 110 FMI 15 ECT Higher Than Expected Stage 1”
This comes from lack of waterflow to engine. Seacock is closed or strainer is clogged or the cover to the impeller housing is loose/off or the impeller is bad."

I went and checked all hoses as stated in the previous thread, coolant level was good, no leaks, and hoses were tight. Next moved onto the strainer and SURPRISE, it was clogged to sh***!!! Removed the rear floorboard to access the strainer, closed off the seacock as I have my boat docked at a slip, removed the strainer and cleaned it out. Havent taken it out since I cleaned it, but it already sounds better and starts up fresh as well. This happened on my 2018 Axis I had in the past but totally forgot about it.

I should have known but didn't think to check the strainer as it's not easily accessible or visible when looking I to the engine bay. 99% sure that's the issue. Easy fix and fingers crossed this was the issue.

Yessir. Has its own inline pump that Ive seen leak. You would see a puddle of pink on your stbd rear ballast bag if its the culprit

New owner of a 2015 Tige R20 here. Can’t say enough about how thankful I am to find this post and your comment. Been chasing an overheating issue… so far I think one overheat cycle led to the melting of the wires powering the fuel pump and subsequently frying the pump which has been fixed…

That said, I finally found the post today, removed the panel in front of the heater pump, and sure enough coolant was leaking out. I didn’t notice before because the rear ballast bags had been removed by the previous owner and so the floor just felt wet there, but couldn’t tell it was coolant.

I bypassed and removed the pump today and will give it a try next weekend when we’re back out on the water.
