New Prop for 2011 Tige R20

I need to replace the prop on my 2011 R20 with a PCM 343 engine.

I currently have a Acme 1631 prop. It has a split in a blade but runs very nicely. I need a back up and figured this 1631 would make an excellent back up.

We boat in NW Montana with our lakes around ~3000', We are setup for ~2000 lbs of ballast. Kids also wake board and we like to cruise. Never super fast as our lakes are fairly small. Our boat is mostly a mobile DJ station for kids playing on the beach.

Acme has recommendations from 1591, 1939, 1847, 1433, 1617, 2571 and 3039. Wakemakers adds the 537, 1579, 1273 and 1235 to the options. That is a lot of options, and the 1631 we have isn't on the list! I'm leaning towards the 1433 but honestly have no idea why other than Acme says is average.

Anyone have thoughts on the next prop for this boat.

What is your goal? More top end speed or low end pull?

One piece of the puzzle that I always like to add, is, whats the current performance? How do you feel the current prop worked for you, minus the defect of course. This sets the bench mark for making an upgrade move. if it s pig, then you need to make a large change. if good but need a little more, then a less aggressive change might do the trick.

Thanks Gents, I would say I feel like the current prop is good all around. Pulls out nicely, has more top end than we can handle, isn't bad on fuel. The only area I can't with great experience comment on is the performance on low end. I think its good but this being my first wake boat I can't say what poor performance in this segment feels like.

I will get the existing prop repaired so i'm thinking i'd like to see something that may pop a wakeboarder/surfer up faster?

The diameter of the 1631 is 13.5" which seems smaller than what is being recommended at 14 and 14.5". I assume this increase in diameter creates more lowend pull and consumes more fuel?

my .02 fwiw. 1235. I upgraded on my old supra from an OJ to that and loved it so much it was on my old 22ve and use it on our z3. both the supra and 22ve ran fully ballasted at a lake at 3000ft with no issues.

            Thanks Sadm.
The 1235 is a 14.5" diameter prop. Has anyone actually used it on an R20? The space between the hull and prop must be getting fairly tight. Its on the table from Wakemakers for 2011-2014 R20's as a heavy weight so must actually fit.

I would think tige uses the same shaft/underwater gear for most of the boats so shaft spacing to the hull would be the same across the r/rz line but koolaid or freeheel would know better.

if wm says it'll work it should.
