Turkey Day Wakesurfing So Utah Style

We came down to Southern Utah to be with my parents and do some motorcyling and 4 wheeling. Lovin Powell graciously offered to take us wakesurfing the day after Thanksgiving. Lovin Powell's family are die-hard wakesurfers, they are out on the water on Christmas day (Southern Utah is no Florida during Christmas). Anyway, it was a beautiful sunny day around mid 50s air temp and the water was in the 50s. It felt like a demo day, we had 4 different surfboards to choose from. Lovin Powell's daughter started the day out right with some awesome runs. Everybody used a dry suit, but we tested the water by sending my son out in only a shortie wetsuit. With some coaching and helpful tips from the Lovin Powells, both me and my son learned to wakesurf without the rope on our third time wakesurfing (our 2nd time on weighted boat). I am sure that is no great feat to most of you, but we were stoked to get a handle on it. Lovin Powell's son-in-law ripped it up and Lovin Powell and son had some awesome runs. Talltigeguy was going to meet up with us but wisely chose to do some Christmas shopping with his wife. Anyways, maybe not as exciting as Coach out on his new RZ2, but to us it will go down as our favorite Thanksgiving ever!

That is awesome. That would be dry suit water for me.

I made a wise choice. She is happy and I got to go wakeboarding on Saturday. Water temp 53 degrees.

This Wednesday the morning temp is supposed to be 17 degrees! I better consider getting that block drained!
        Be excellent to one another.

It was a great day indeed. Thank's Moki for coming along with us. We were well above the 100 degree rule that Talltigeguy uses for winter surfing. Next scheduled trip, Christmas day, to celebrate two years with our Tige boat (we presented it to our kids on Christmas day 2004, after which we took it out for it's first christmas voyage).

5 inches so far in my yard. I tried to hook up a snow plow to my 4 wheeler last night, but they didn't send all the *&)$#@@^ parts.

I hope for my next assignment I can be somewhere in the mountains. The company has a few places close to the resorts, I wanna board more! Guess that takes away from my wakeboarding, but... maybe a place I can do both!

Get transferred to Utah! I have 6 resorts within 40 minutes of my house. For the winter wakeboarding, you have to head south to Lovin Powell and Talltigeguy's neighborhood. But there are a few weeks in the Spring time where I have been at the lake and on the slopes in the same week.

we don't have much in Utah which stinks. But ya know, if you have an opening for a Mech Eng. Lets talk I have never boarded Utah, I hear it's very nice. I have just been to CO all the time, and this year I'll hit CA up some. Thinking about Mammoth and Tahoe as well
