    Upgrade Prop for 2018 R23

    Tige friends,

Thanks to all the great info in here we have our new to us r23 surfing awesome! Per elevated recommendations we added 500# lead and the bot is dialed in. The boat seems to struggle to get to surf speed with 6 people on board and turns around 3,500 rpm. What is a good prop to help with our surfing? Thanks in advance and we are excited to be part of the Tige family!

What prop is on it now? Acme 537? What’s the elevation of the lakes you go to?

My dealer recommends the 1235 at 700ft elevation, but I’ve seen another prop recommendation on here that I don’t remember what it is.

4 blade 15” x 13 pitch was the sweet spot for mine. OJ or Acme make great props but I love OJ customer service. Nothing bad about Acme, OJ just went so far out of there way to make me happy. Regarding pitch, 12 pitch was too steep and 14 pitch had issues with a full boat, loaded down at Altitude.

          It is a 537, 13.5 x 16 prop. We run at 1100 ft elevation.

running an acme 2419 (15x12). 1000' amsl, raptor 400. not as much top end but don't care about that. no issues with heavy surf weights, we run about 3200-3300 rpm fully ballasted (including 900# lead) at 10.8 mph.

Called ACME and they recommended running 1873 prop. Installed it this past weekend and improved performance significantly. Was able to reach surf speed quickly and ran about 300-400 less rpm than the 537.
