    2005 22v Taps Relay Board

It's been a while since last post. Haven't had any mods or problems but I do now. The relay circuit board for the taps system has failed. Power to the board is good, taps switch on throttle works and motor to raise/lower plate works, just not getting signal from switch on throttle to the motor. Verified by boat repair business. I am in need of getting another relay circuit board or fixing the one I have. Does anyone know where I might be able to get another board (I have a call in to Tige also to ask if they have one). If I can't find one does anyone know of a place the they have used the might repair a board like this?

    Any suggestions would help.

If you have the Lenco actutor this is the module you will need. I believe our parts guy had to contact Lenco and they built a new as they are no longer in stock. Zoom in on pic to get part number.

If this is the path you end up going down I made a cheat sheet for wiring I the module as the colors change on the module side with the new one

THANK YOU. I found the name and model on the controller and have located the website and contact info. I will see what they have to say. Good to hear they were able to build one for your and hopefully they will be able to do that for me as well if needed.

Just wondering if now would be the time to possibly convert from the taps I have which is one plate to the Taps 3 system. Any thoughts I thought idea? Will have to do more research on that as it might be more than it's worth but then again I don't know.

Again, thanks for steering me in a direction that might have some good results. And thanks of the wiring diagram offer as well. I will keep that in mind as this project moves along.

Any other suggestions from anyone would be appreciated.

Ok, here is the situation. Have a taps controller that failed. I have contacted the manufacture and they thought they had some left over inventory but doesn't seem to be the case. So, I have the standard indicator (1-7) on the helm for the taps position, and I have the electric motor to move the taps plate that works and I have the rocker button in the throttle body that works but the relay controller for this is not working. Does anyone have a suggestion that would allow me to have an indication of the position of the taps plate?

Anyone have a 2009 with a center taps plate and some kind of indication as to the position of the taps plate? What control unit/relay unit to you have and who makes it? What kind of indicator to you have?

        Thanks

Ive made them work(move up and down) without replacing module a couple of times but never tried to solve the gauge issue. The Lencos dont have a sender in them like the Bennetts. Always assumed the module varied Ohms to gauge based on amount of time switch was pressed at throttle. Short of getting really crafty and adding some kind of potentiometer/rheostat to the plate itself I would be lost on ideas. If you really need your gauge to work you could just switch to Bennett but not a cheap solution.

Hmm.. so are you saying you are using the above model but don't have a indicator working showing you the position of the taps plate? Also, do you know who or how your parts guy got them to make another rely? I will call Lenco tomorrow and see if they have model 30243-002. I am not confident they will have this as it was listed right next to the model I needed on they sheet of different models. I do see the sticker has a 2018 date which is promising. What I am hoping his the case is this model you posted does connect up to the indicator and Lenco either has this model in stock or they are willing to make another. Sorry for confusing things but just trying to get things correct is all. I do appreciate the help very much.

Correct. Everything functions but no gauge. If you arent used to if you can blow the fuse trying to run it too long after it reaches the end of travel(I think that module did some kind of current limiting but that's more speculation). Ive just wired it in with an easy to get to inline fuse holder and show the customer at pickup and give them a few spares. The owner of the SwitchV that I did it for says he has only blown the fuse once.

Dont quote me on this but I'm pretty sure we got directly from Lenco and they had to build the new one. It's definitely new and it was all last summer that it got put in.

Were you able to get ahold of Lenco? What did they say? My control board is shot as well. Went to West Marine as a Lenco supplier. West Marine contacted Lenco which told them they no longer can supply this control board. I am now in the process of trying to contact Lenco directly and ask for options. Customer Service isn't accepting calls due to high call volumes, so am waiting for a call back based on a voicemail I left.
