Hahaha!! Nope, they come to my shop, but the mailman hates me too!! He deserves it for all my lost mail, though!!

She only hates them because she gets sick of waiting for me to move all of them, tries to help, and struggles!!! She should move them more, I guess!!!

GoPro use a wide angle (aka fish eye) lens. These lens distort images and can make object that are near the center of the image appear larger than objects at the edges. This image below demonstrates this effect. Apparently there are ways to remove the distortion. Google GoPro fish eye correction.

I left out a couple details. They use these lens for the wide angle field of view. These lens cause the wave to look longer. Use a camera with a normal field of view lens and compare the pics to GoPro pics.

I always make sure my GoPro is set to the normal or narrow field of view. That helps eliminate the fisheye. Either way to me pictures of waves always look longer than when I’m on them.

Hope you’re feeling better there Josh.

Lead is the answer to every problem my friend, well maybe not quite but you know what I mean. I literally get told my boat looks like it’s running down hill multiple times per day.
I think you should book yourself a family vacation up here to Canada and come out for a surf while you’re at it
I hope you get a chance to grab some pictures!

Thanks for all the get wells guys! I’m surprised I’m still down. Doc said I’m the 1 in 4 that has a slow recovery. Lucky me. Said I’m limited to a milk jug in each hand for at least two weeks and maybe up to 4. No swimming for four weeks either.

So what is the bare minimum lead needed to make the purchase worthwhile? I know that 800-1k is ideal. Doing that would require a new truck so that makes the lead really expensive and hard to justify. I think I’d be okay with 300. If I did that much would I just put it in the bow and keep it there? If I got 500 pounds where would I put that?

Cole, I grew up in Alaska so that does make me honorary Canadian. I haven’t been through there for close to 20 years. Have done a few road trips through the Al-Can and Cassiar. Would love to do one of those trips again. Would be even better with lake time built into the trip.

I ran 300 in the bow for the majority of last year, it does make a difference.. you have PnP, so you’re in a different boat, no pun intended. I’m running 500 bow, now, plus generally at least 2 people when riding, and it’s made a major difference in my boat. Both wave and hitting plane. If I had 500 lead, and PnP, I’d probably still be tempted to run all the lead in the bow.. if you really wanted to split it up, I’d probably say 300 bow, 200 rider side in the surf locker..

Finally got this video put up. Still have a little bit of playing around to do with weight as there was still some wash every now and then. Maybe that was just because of the rough water. The important parts at this point are that adding more people really made the wave taller, longer and solid as a rock. There was great push well into the curl. I used to have to do my 360's right behind the swim deck. You can see this one was done about mid wave and I recovered in the curl with no problem (other than having ugly form). I went on to do 2 more 360's right after this one with ease. I fell on the fourth one. Most fun I've had on a wave.

On a side note, you may also notice my new Da Honu in the video. It's a 4'6" board. This was my first ride on it. As I sat there in the water getting ready to be pulled I thought for sure it would be too small for me at 6' and 180 pounds. It just looked so much smaller than my 4'8" Neo. I could not believe how well this board performed. It was super loose, but at the same time it would hold any line with ease. The difference between these boards is night and day. I'm super happy to have it in the collection.

Wave is looking good brotha. I think mine is taller, but probably half as long. We ride fast trying to lengthen it, and it just doesn’t happen, much, at least.. I’m glad I ride goofy, because our goofy wave is like twice as good as our regular wave. Not sure if it’s my setting up, or it just isn’t there. It definitely isn’t a matter of enough weight, and I’m using the old “6 lean and 9 rise” method.

I think I’ll probably swap to GSA this winter, especially if I can install myself.. I need to call them and chat about how to determine the actuator position..

You get out this last weekend??

Pretty much brand new GSA for if anyone wants. $3000.

Was on a boat for month of July. This year. Latest version.

I’m assuming the whole system? I would only need the plates, which someone in here said should be around $1500, unless I misunderstood something. I probably wouldn’t put them on for $3k.
