The New Poll on launching your Tige

Have you ever launched your Tige by yourself?

    Yes, but not successfully
    Yes, with success
    No

    This got me thinking

What would be considered "Yes, but not successfully?"

Leaving the plug out and sinking your boat?
    Boat floating away?

    Any other ideas out there?

I do it all the time, especially when it's just me and my boys (they're not old enough to drive...yet).

I hope you don't mean "not successfully"

Unsuccessful may be you back up into the fuel dock and blow up the marina???

I have two methods when I do it by myself, one is a true solo effort the second involves kids. The first method is probably what everybody else does and that is back the trailer in the water, walk aross the trailer, get in the boat, unhook and tie up to the dock. Go back and park your vehicle. The other method is tie a rope on the boat, have one of my kids hold the rope. Back the trailer up and hit the brakes when you are deep enough, my kid either just holds the rope or pulls the boat to the dock.

It's usually successful. I either do what Moki does solo or a variation if there's no dock where I get the kids to hold onto the boat near the shoreline while I go park the truck/trailer.

Last year I did the solo launch by releasing the bow eye, backing down letting the boat float off, parking the truck, then swimming to the boat.

Our launch area has only a small dock to avoid, and it wasn't really that busy, so I did it that way.

Prob took less than 5 minutes total.

When you launch on the Parker Strip do launch at that ramp below Anchor Inn. If so, is there much current there?

I do it all the time....I even prefer if I have some one with me they just stay out of the way or they screw up my system.

Takes me minutes to do it by myself.
What really P*ss me off is when I get there some idiot will be pulling in or out and taking their sweet nature time... I get in and get out as not to take up too much slip time!!

I would like to set up a portable divorce court at the launch ramp I think I could clear some pretty good money.

Yes to both. I think I forget the plug atleast once a summer. Oh yah, A Tige will float a trailer, so I heard

My solo launch is pretty simple: leave bow hooked but loosen the winch just a little. Back down till the stern starts too float. Walk across trailer tongue, unhook bow, climb in and drive boat off and tie up. Park truck.

                            Retrieve in reverse!
