Prepare Me For Battle--HAVE to 2nd Battery

anyone have any input on putting 6v batteries in? I was talking to a friend who did it and wired them in series and now he has 4 batteries on it, along with the charger. They are out of golf cart, supposedly very good. Just wondering what you experts think about it? Jeff T and Chpthril seem to be the wizards.

I wanted to put my two batteries now in parallel to start the boat, and the other four, two in series then in parallel so they can power my music.

6v's are way more power then I need (heavy too) but are a great way to go for alot of "play time"

It takes 2 6v's in series to make 12v's and then paralleled to another pair of 6v's and you will have kiiler setup to run some serious tunes. Sounds like you got it

My deal is I can't find where they are getting the batteries for 60-80 bucks. What maintance is required on wet cells? Any advice is greatly appreicated.

Will wet cells be ok in 100+ heat like bako gets? I have no prob charging them after each use. I'll have to find a good charger, but that can be done, any recommendations?

You could check a golfcart place ? maybe.

I would bet that in your hot/dry climate, the wetcells would need checked more often than here.

Dom, they sell for $95.00 here in Tucson at the golf cart stores. I doubt you will find them for $60.00. Good luck.

Dom are you referring to trickle chargers while off the water?

ok I'll go look it up. Trickle, kind of yeah. I just want to be able to keep the batteries charged, but also when I"m working on the yard or what not, would love to crank up some tunes. This system I'm building will be BAD @$$ and Second to none!

on 6v battereis, wet cells I think it's different.
I think this is what I mean. I know that I don't think once I get on the water, with the 4 batteries, that the amount I drive it will chrage them enough, wanna make sure I keep them fresh for the next trip.
