18 R23 gatorstep add

added gatorstep to gunwale on my 18 r23. really needed this for traction, etc, as this is where ppl step when boarding from dock, walk through, also when stowing boards on bimini. if anyone's interested in the templates pm me and I'll be happy to share. before and after pics.

Shoot, I ordered the template for this on Friday from Gatorstep! Looks great! Can I ask why you didn't run it all the way to the back of the transom?

Got it. It's a request we get quite a bit. Manly because that's where kids (and adults!) jump off the boat and it gets slippery.

does anyone offer pre made kits I would love one for my 2018 R21 for the sides and nose step...must be someone who does this? I looked on gator step and they don't even have my boat listed...

Once you have the template, how do you get them cut/made? Do you send it to gatorstep and they make them? Any idea of the cost?

does the blue vinyl stay relatively cool in the Texas sun?

yes, they have a template kit you can order, then you send it in, they mock it up, you confirm, and they make it. it's not cheap, but looks great and matches. for non handy folks like me its worth it. i think i paid $200+ for mine and that's after a discount from here.

and all the vinyl gets hot in Texas. blues not as bad as brown.

Order a template from Gatorstep,trace it out, and send it back to them. Super easy and they are very helpful.

I think when they were offering the boat as a Z they left little things like these as optional to justify the price difference between an R and a Z.

The Z owners they wanted to get on the boat safely..but the R owners can slip and fall into the lake the cheapskates. Hahaha

I'd be very interested in both the gunwale template and the template for the bow pieces. My mom almost slipped and hit the dock last year trying to board the boat from the nose and my kids are ALWAYS jumping off the sides...... Does anyone know if the gunwale kit from the R23 fit an R21?

Im in the same boat...I bet the R23 is just longer in the tower section, I have been talking to Mason at gator step about this...you guys who have done this can you list your dealer name or full name so they can try and trace it back? Id too love to add the sides and front to our boat for safety reasons!!

Actually Mason at gatorstep reached out to me today as apparently a bunch of ppl have asked them about it, so gatorstep might be able to get to ppl directly. my template also has gatorstep between the tower and windshield.
