Lily Pad - Worth it or a pain?

Trying to decide if getting a lily pad would be more of an annoyance than a benefit. I trailer my boat so I don't have the benefit of dropping it back off on shore when surfing (and don't want to haul it back to the truck).

Anyone here have one? Does it get in the way when you surf? I've seen some people with smaller ones mount them to the top of their tower when they're surfing, but they seem to be much smaller than the 15ft lily pads at Costco.

    Thanks!

We have had one for close to 6 years now. The kids love it. However, we have a cottage and had it anchored. Did not have to roll it up all the time and put it on the swim platform.

Now we have a Mission Reef Mat with a high pressure pump. As we live 10 hrs from our cottage we take the Mission Reef Mat with us to other lakes for the day or long weekends. It folds up nicely and provides ballast while in the boat as it is heavy AF. Much more expensive then the Lilly Pad but much easier then having to roll up and tie down the Pad.

If my wife would be supportive of it, I would give you mine! She loves it though. I hate it. We very rarely use it, it's a PITA to haul around, and there is no convenient place to put it. When used, they are awesome... but when not in use, UGH!

it's almost like the guy on the bike wanted to hit it. you can see brake lights come on and he just rides right into it.

I got this one last year from Costco and has worked well so far. https://jimmystyks.com/products/wahoo

Seems to be good quality. Comes with 2 pumps and isn't too bad time wise to blow up. I usually make my 7 year old help me and we can fill it in just under 5 mins.

Between the foam roll up and the blow up you could argue the pros and cons of each. The mat is nicer but does take time to blow up so if you are moving around during the day you wouldn't want to inflate and deflate a lot which is where the foam style could be nice as you can roll it up. I'd say the downside to the foam is I've heard rolling it can be a pain and it's much larger of an item to store. Not sure what a wet foam mat weighs but the blow up is 50lbs.

I love mine, but it is a pain to roll up and/or store. It is a pain to have in the boat while surfing, so usually drop it back off at the dock when it's time to ride.

I have one Love it, but also drop it off at the dock when not in use. I do have an upper platform it rides there always. We can surf if we have to. There not that bad to roll up when you have 2 people the kids love them and keeps them mostly out of the boat. Mine is modified to mount under the swim platform keeps it behind the boat nicely..

The holes on each side have plastic nuts that the lily screws into.

I looked for a pic of the screw this is the only one I could find it is hanging in the background from the lily. (It stays attached to the lily) Upper platform is holding the grill.

Wait, upper platform? It that the wood that bbq is mounted to? Wild! Never heard of this. The kayak racks in the background make me wonder if you carry those on the boat too. [emoji16]

Posted this to the facebook page as well but I know some of you are not on facebook. Bought one of these today. Seems like a great deal compared to some of the other blow up sup style mats and almost 40% off the rave site or anywhere else I can find. Hopefully it is as good of a deal as I think. Been wanting one for a year but couldn’t swallow the $900 price tag. If anyone has any experience with the rave brand of mat let me know if it is a mistake.

Assholes!!!!! I’ve almost been hit by mattresses twice, on my bike. You should go to prison, for life, if you are dumb enough to get on the highway with something that could easily kill someone.

Maybe it’s because I tow and haul a bunch of different stuff, but I am so flabbergasted by loads that people think belong on a road. And, maybe it’s just Reno, but I watch police roll right by them without a second look. Pretty sure that should take precedence over the guy you’re going to pull over for going 10mph over!!
