22I Type R ballast

Hello,
Has anyone came up with the perfect surf ballast set up? Thinking custom made 525lb sacs for the rear lockers and 220 lb x 2 bow sacs.

Welcome to the site! Share a picture of your boat when you get a chance. We owned a 2004 22i Type R for a few years. Great boat. I think you are on the right track, but reaching out to CHPTHRIL on here might be your best bet. We had a pair of manual fill regular 400s when we started to surf, and traded up when we realized how hard it was going to be to dial in a direct drive. It can be done, don't get me wrong... but it gave me an excuse.
