Wow, you could get some major air off of that wake....not! Your first cut on a waterski would pull it out of the water. I don't see it catching on.

Yeah they claim it will track striaght even with the most expirenced waterskiers. You could forget wake boarding behind it because there is no wake! And on top of skiing you would have to navigate through traffic. But it might be fun just to get up behind it and ski around the lake.

I just don't get the concept of how you steer it. If the steering is in the handle and you are making a hard cut will the boat turn with your pull??
Just doesn't seem safe on any lake.

Maybe some day when the machines take over it will all make sense!!!

There's a guy around here with one of those things. I've never actually seen it run, I've just passed him going the other way on the freeway up by Boca. The first few times I saw it I couldn't quite figure out what it was. Big *** RC boat? Some sort of custom speed record jet ski? Then I saw an add for it, Waterski Mag I think. These have been around for while now, but I've seen one like it before, many years back. Definately not a new concept. I would for sure take one for a ride. It would suck to get hurt out on the water and have only that thing to get you back though.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

I think it would be fun on those days when no one is around and you really want to ride. I live on a lake and I can't always find a driver. Even if I did not throw any tricks, it would still be cool to steer it around. I would assume that after a fall it would go in a circle like the stand up jet skis do.
If its not fun, Why do it?

And then think about gauges. There are none! How would you know how fast your are going or how much gas you have or anything?

I would think a circle would be a cut rope and control line. To me it looks like a fun thing to try if someone else owns it. I used to ski behind my SeaDoo Xp that had around 80 hp. So it should have enough pull. I don't think tracking would be great.

You are supposed to steer with one of these while skiing.

For me the real issue is that you now have a boat where the driver is multi-tasking (trying to ski and drive a boat at the same time). Unlike a jetski, you won't be looking around to see who else is near you. Seems like a recipe for disaster if you're on a lake with other boaters.

So you are legal with no spotter?

Only a few states are legal without a spotter, and that is only in a ski course. Now a without a driver and a spotter in the boat..... my guess would be not legal.

It has a motor and tows a person, so it's a boat, right!!!!!

It does not carry passengers, so it's not a boat, right!!!!!
