Thanks to this forum, I was able to troubleshoot my no start issue down to a bad distributor cap and rotor causing no spark.
2007 22Ve with MP engine
Problem now is that the starter only goes bang, bang, bang (or pop, pop, pop) when trying to start.
I have good batteries, and good voltage to the solenoid.
I've removed the starter and tested it with the same battery and works perfectly once removed from the engine.
I have checked and reconnected all of the ground wires.
Since it works off the motor, I'm assuming I need to replace the starter and not just the solenoid.
Are there any other places to check?
If I need a new starter, where is the best place to source one? Part number? Top mount, but I assume normal rotation and not opposite rotation.
Thanks for any and all suggestions.
